Gladiator Fuel Economy: What can we do?

Fuel economy in the Jeep gladiator not what you would like? Can you do anything to help? We try to find out with a filter change and some new oil. Watch to see if it works.

I was wondering what speed do you usually drive at? Is cruise control activated? What size tires do you have?

So I try to use the cruise when on the highway. I set it at the speed limit so usually 70-75. I was running 35x10.50 kanda klever RT tires when I made this video.

@@orderofthetravelinghats236 I see very interesting. I wonder what you would get around 50 to 60 mph. On 35s or stock tires.

I have a 2021 Gladiator Mojave. Has 33 in M/T tires and a bed cover. Other than that, it is stock. I was getting about 19 mpg. Saw another Gladiator owner post about poor mileage. He noticed that when on a trip he occasionally would get gasoline without alcohol. His mpg went up. When he got back to Minnesota he tried using premium gas with no alcohol. Yeah, it was more expensive but when he figured out what is costing him per mile of fuel, then premium gas was cheaper to run. I tried it. On my 3rd tank. I am getting 1.5 to 2 mpg better with it. From my calculations it is a wash for me. But I do like having it show up on the mpg gauge sometimes get the average up to 23. But then I drive like a little old man. But then I am almost 72. So go figure. As far as the K&N filter, they do have less restriction but also much less filtering. Lots of dust and dirt get through. There's a KZbin channel called Project Farm. I believe that he tested all those filters. I would never run a K&N on a vehicle that I wanted to keep. I guess it is fine if you trade every few years. I plan to keep my Gladiator until I can't drive anymore and have my daughter on the title for transfer to when I'm gone.

@@jackiebeene9609 about premium fuel yes, I've always used it and got a couple more miles per tank than regular🤷🏻‍♂️ more expensive but got more range 🤔

As far as the stock air filter. More media means more surface area which means less restriction than a smaller amount of the same media.
