My Mojave is getting 14.7 per gal. I watched it drop when I added 35 inch tires, then I watched it drop a little more when I lifted it. It fell even further after my “stubby” bumper install. Nope, it didn’t stop there. A simple two bar roof rack lowered it even further. I recently added 2 inch cube lights to the hood Cowles. I shouldn’t have been but I was surprised that it lowered it even more. I was going to put a small decal on my rear window………. But I think I’ll wait until gas prices improve. To be honest I didn’t buy a gladiator because of the gas mileage and if I would’ve known gas prices were gonna go where they’re going, I still would’ve bought the gladiator. Love your channel Rob.

I’ve only had my Gladiator for almost a month so I haven’t really noticed. That said, I’ve conceded that this is a gas guzzler and I will just enjoy the driving experience and not look at the gas pump when I’m filling ‘er up. Haha

Get a Tazer JL mini & recalibrate for your overall tire height. Anytime you change the tire size you need to recalibrate. Bigger tire = more weight, less mpg, spin ratio is different, recalibration should help. When I put on 37x20 mine went down to 13 mpg, I didn’t recalibrate, however the biggest difference was when I re-geared to 5.13s & recalibrated, Now I’m getting 16+mpg in Colorado where MPGs will be lower due to altitude. Actually put a level on the top of the tire & measure to the bottom of the level because tires aren’t true to their listed height. There are KZbin videos on this.

I consistently get 19-23 mpg on my ‘21 overland with stock wheels/tires, about 1mpg on average less than my Grand Cherokee got. I’m pretty satisfied with that.

The Max Tow Package will get you different gearing. Changing the gearing for larger tires can improve your gas mileage.

My 80th anniversary JT with nitto ridge grapplers in 285/70 is getting 18-19 consistently. usually 18.7 actually. I have a leveling kit in it also. 373 gears. 7k on it right now. I spend a lot of time at about 55 mph

You really need to use a Tazer of FlashCal to change your tire size along with your shift points are going to be off which is going to affect your mileage! I have a 2018 JLU with the 2.0T, 37s, 3.5" lift and 5.13s I am getting 18/20mpgs -

Hi I have the Jeep gladiator Diesel and I have put close to 1800 miles since I purchased it and I have been averaging between freeway and street driving 26.9 miles to the gallon I am very impressed with this diesel that I have and it has a good kick the Torque is awesome!!!! Also I wanted to know if that I have 35 inch tires!!! And I do have the tonneau cover! Mind you on the freeway I put it on cruise control at 70 to 72 mph and on the streets the average speed us 45 to 45 mph so I’m very happy with my gladiators gas mileage I know mine is diesel but my friend has the gas version and he is averages 18.3 per mile And he has little over 3200 miles! And he has 35 inch tires too! Note we do put Costco gas ! And some time use QT ! Wish all use high tear gas!

Yeh 6 speed sport s 295/70/17 with 3.73 no lift no level and about 11 mpg gauge says 14 at times but when I do it on paper it comes out to around 11 . It’s undeniable gas consumer for some reason . To me I thought something’s wrong but a few of you seem to be in the same range . It’s enough to make you want a big 8 cyl full size truck those guys get better milage when I’m talking at the pump every day some times twice a day

It could be like you said, when the humidity is up, the air is "thicker". I say that because in my vehicle in my daily travels on the highway, small inclines don't usually increase my RPM's. But on a humid day, they get higher, at least when I'm using cruise control, just my opinion and one POSSIBLE way.

I got about 18-19mpg for the first 1k and has slightly improved. just broke 3k and get about 20mpg with stock tires and no mods that would really effect it besides maybe my tonneau cover that I put on the first week. Mostly highway driving 65-75mph. Love the vids👍

In this Gladiator, tends to be mid 18 to mid 19. Best I've done is low 22 on long highway trip. Although I have 20 mile highway drive to work, it is "hilly", so that can kill it. My previous Gladiator I could keep in the low 20. Then it was hit while I was stopped at a traffic light. They had to replace the frame, and after that I was never able to do much better than 17.

My mpg has actually improved since my gladiator was brand new. I drive basically the same environment you do and according to the mileage thingy its now over 16 just running around town. New it was at 15. So there's that.

I'm guessing you live in the south like me and I noticed lately with the hot temperatures and high humidity (it has been 60 to 100 percent humidity lately) that the performance and mpg has gone down. Hot humid air is less dense than cold dry air so the engine has to work harder in the summer. My gladiator is still stock with 2000 miles and gets 16.7 mpg so with the tires and armor on yours 14 mpg does not sound unreasonable in the summer. Also city driving does tend to lug the engine so once in a while it helps to get on the throttle a little bit to improve shift points in the learned memory (do the Italian tune up).

ANY HELP?: I have 2022 Gladiator Mojave with about 3,500 miles. I drive very cautiously. The dealer changed the tires to 35" Nito Ridge Grappler. Everything else is stock. I am only getting 12.1 MPG !!!. About half (1,500 miles) as highway with cruise control on. In Montana (really cold). HELP. What the heck is going on.

I've gone from 19 to 17mpg on my 17 Willys unlimited since I took factory BFG mud terrains off and installed General Grabber X3 Both are 255/75R17. I think the reason is Generals are 15lbs per tire heavier.

I’m getting close 13 with my 2022 gladiator with 35” and 3.5” lift I have RTT, bedrack, steel bumper winch roof rack and light bar I know I’m heavy, but I haven’t calibrate the tire size. What do you guys think about improvement of I did recalibrate tire size? When I compare nav system millage and odometer millage I found out it’s off by ~6% (odometer shows less millage) I don’t know how much calibration helps shift points of transmission Any idea would help Thanks

I don’t know what your state laws are in Texas, find out how much ethanol is in your gasoline? In Canada it’s up to 10 percent ethanol on 87octane ,up to 5percent on 89 octane and no ethanol on 91 and 94 octane. That will make a big difference in mileage. You are also right outside temperature and humidity does play a role on mileage especially in below freezing temperatures your engine uses more fuel to compensate the cold dense air, but also when it’s really hot it uses more fuel to burn because the air is to light.plus when it’s to hot you are using your AC on all the time and it makes your engine run a bit quicker too. Also in southern states you won’t actually have winter gasoline cause it has different ingredients for cold climate, so yours should be the same formula all year round(summer fuel)😎

Something odd I’m running experiments with is mid grade gas. Now I’ve started this not assuming it would do anything, but a quarter tank in and 2 days later it seems to idle smoother and the avg mpg has run up 3mpg. I’m wondering if in the heat levels it might be pulling timings and causing a need for more gas inputs?

Not only does it recalibrate your speed. You need to recalibrate your transmission shift points. Your Tacoma does save more gas. It's already more fuel efficient stock. You will be getting 17/18 mpg and hot weather also affects mpg by making less hp.

Any full frame Jeep sucks on gas. My 2009 f150 with the 5.4 gets better mileage (18/20) than my 2004 lj.
