Gladiator Rubicon rear differential fluid change 2020 - 2022

This is just a a quick video showing how to change the differential fluid on a 2020 - UP Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. I am just changing it now for piece of mind but plan to do a more in depth video when i replace the front and rear diff covers with better more sturdy ones later in the year. I will also be changing to amsoil severe gear 80w - 140 in the rear and 80w - 90 in the front, to be better prepared for towing.

How did the thread sealer workout. Did it hold?

I never saw any leaks before I sold it. I should have had some brake clean or something to clean the threads up but it seemed to have worked out for me.

My 2022 JLUR does not have a rear diff drain plug. Did they omit this for cost savings??

Weird. Does it have the fill plug? If not, then you may have a casting issue. If it does, then the only way to change the fluid would be to remove the cover old-school style to drain the fluid.

@@KnightsGarage What's funny is...The fill plug has the magnet. Front does not have a drain plug as well. Fuck you Stalantis. Saved a couple of bucks not having them... The spot that they would be installed has the area where they would have been machined to accept a plug! Buy a Bronco Instead!!

My 2022 extreme recon doesn’t have one either. From what I have heard is the casing can crack by the drain plug on if over tightened.

Not sure why you changed out the front differential fluid because the front differential doesn’t even spin. It only rotates when the four-wheel-drive is engaged

The fluid are used here contains the limited slip additive already

Rubicon doesn’t have a limited slip. No additive needed
