Gladiator Sky Breaks The Rules In Pyramid | American Gladiators | Full Episode | S05E21

In the women’s competition, it’s Carla Shares, a student from Long Beach, California vs. D’onna Toyebo, a U.S. army electric device repairman from Ford Old, California. In the men’s round, it’s Mark Kibort, a technical salesman from Saratoga, California against Troy Jackson, a gymnastics coach from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Breakthrough & Conquer: The contender must face two Gladiators in this two-part event. First, they need to score a touchdown against the first Gladiator. Then the contender must wrestle the second Gladiator, forcing them to step outside of a ring.
Sky Track: The contenders and a Gladiator race around an inverted track, using velcro attached to their hands and feet.
Assault: The contender must attempt to hit a target while a Gladiator shoots at them using a tennis ball cannon.
Whiplash: The contender and Gladiator each hold one end of a double triangle apparatus, known as the “dog bone”. They must each attempt to have the other either let go of the “dog bone”, or exit the ring.
Pyramid: Contenders have 45 seconds to reach the top of a pyramid, with two Gladiators blocking their path.
Hang Tough: The Gladiator and contender swing across hanging gymnastics rings, with the contender trying to make it to the opposite platform without the Gladiator forcing them off.
Powerball: Contenders try to score points by depositing balls into baskets and avoid being tackled by three Gladiators.
The Eliminator: The Eliminator is an obstacle course spanning the arena, the winner of which advances to the next round of the competition.

Beginning in 1989 for 8 seasons, this competition swept America. Two men and two women compete against each other and a roster of ""American Gladiators"". Events included, The Assault, Joust, The Wall, Breakthrough and Conquer, Hang Tough, Powerball, and many others, all culminating in the final event, ""The Eliminator"", a difficult obstacle course race. Every season there is a tournament to determine its ""Grand Champion"". For two seasons, there was an ""International"" competition taped in England where the champions from 4-6 countries competed similarly.

It is still to wonder why there was a DQ in the Pyramid.

Because Sky played DIRTY!!! The rules state then when you pin a Contender down, you’re suppose to let them go, and the same rule applies for other events, especially Gauntlet. The 5 Second Rule!!!

Gladiators have to attempt to throw the contender down the pyramid. Sky maintained a hold for over 20 seconds, presumably because she couldn't get the leverage to throw, but those are the rules. She should have let go and tried again.

"Zap" jumped the gun on "Sky Track", so she should've been dis-qualified, and Carla should've gotten 10 points, and D'Onna, 5 points. Also, "Sky" was dis-qualified for holding on to D'Onna, so she should've gotten 10 points, instead of 5. In the end, the ending would've been the same, but it's the principle of the thing.
