I think salons should sell cheap samples of their product so we don't waste 50 bucks on something we don't like. If they do then...well it's been awhile since I bought product from a salon and haven't realized.

I noticed in my 50’s that my fine hair was getting frizzier and it was impossible to wear “natural” without looking like hay. I thought that years of processing and heat made it this way. Turns out that my previously fairly straightish hair changed to curly with menopause. I studied the curly girl method and now I have lovely 2b/2c/3a curls. Mousse is the absolute best assistant for my very fine hair

Definitely noticed the change in my hair as I approached my 50s and turning grey. I have 3a-3c hair and it felt more porous and wouldn’t hold the style. Frizz was definitely harder and harder to control. I stopped coloring my hair and about 7 months ago did a home keratin treatment hoping to seal my strands. First thing I noticed was how much easier it was to style the hair and how much longer it held. And during humid days I’d let it curl up. But this time, I needed far less product on my curls. The curls are not as tight as before but I love the new pattern. I also started using surfactant free products and that too made all the difference in the world.

@@kuvasz93 what are the hair codes and where do I find info. My hair was curly prior to having children, then slightly wavy afterwards. I need to make another one of these videos using drug store products. KMS is expensive but good hair products are typically an investment that goes towards getting the best possible experience out of your hair...especially if you have curly frizzy hair like mine. If you follow the steps without product, your hair won't last as long but it will still be smooth.

I love my Dyson Airwrap!! Thank you for all the tips! I’ve struggled with using a blow dryer with round brush and almost without exception would give up. I haven’t tried KMS products but I’m interested in several products, especially the anti-humidity spray!! I love Kitsch products and have several Kitsch items. I also put my hair up with a silk scrunchie and it’s amazing how well it works. I tried the Revlon brush but I have to admit it was a bit loud and HOT for me, especially after using the Dyson. Love your helpful videos!! I always feel empowered that I can make small changes and use your tips right away!
@GlamGirlGabi4 жыл бұрын
Hey Tracie! Yes I agree with you that the Revlon is VERY HOT and very loud. There is no comparison for the Dyson. It truly is life changing. It's just so out of budget for a lot of people so I like to include something that is more affordable. I use the silk scrunchie too! Kitsch also has sleep beanies. I included that in the video but it started to get way too long so I am going to do a whole other video about preserving your hair overnight and I will go into those options more in that video. If you want some KMS products, on my website I can only ship to Canada but if you send me an email glamgirlgabibeauty@gmail.com, and let me know what you want, I can send it to you that way as well. Look for shampoos and conditioners that say smoothing. Silicones are your friend so don’t get silicone free. Also products that say anti frizz or frizz free. I like Dove products personally. And pick up a serum or heat protectant that is also for smoothing or anti frizz. It should have a lot of silicone and that’s what you want.

@GlamGirlGabi4 жыл бұрын
Hey Felissa! Your hot tool and your product line are both excellent so way to go with that! Do you have your hair relaxed? It's really tricky with daily workouts because as soon as the root gets wet or damp on any kind of textured hair, the hair will want to curl immediately. The only way to get around that is to relax your hair but even then, as soon as you get roots, it will happen again. I used to work out a lot as well and I found that I just had to keep restyling my hair which does lead to more damage over time. You could also try to do heatless styles that aren't super straight like braids, buns, etc. to give your hair a break a couple of times a week.

I recommend Avlon Texture Release. It’s a temporary amino acid treatment that typically lasts 3 months but can last longer on some hair textures (it can last up to 5 months on my hair). It loosens your curl, and you can switch between curls and blow-outs. My blow-outs (I use Dyson Airwrap with hard bristle and the round brush) start to slightly frizz around the end of month 4. I live in a hot very humid city. Avlon Texture Release is amazing.😍

Im going to curl my hair for my upcoming elopement, do you think I should just curl second day natural curls for a smooth/silky/bouncing curls/waves (1.25inch curling wand), or should I blow dry it and then go in with a straightener and curling iron.

Wow. When did, and why is "straight hair" always the standard? Your hair is naturally curly, I can tell. You would have a beautiful bountiful set of curls if you started over and embraced your natural hair. Now of course it's our own choice to wear our hair the way we want, no judgement, but if you ever feel yourself starting on your spiritual journey *(and you will)* it will be easier to embrace the hair in which you were given instead of constantly fighting against it. Embracing what you were born with is hard at first but then it becomes ethereal, almost Spiritual. It happened for me one day because I'm always looking for truth. I hope it happens for you sweet girl. You look great no argument there. But if it ever becomes deeper for you than this, go natural. It will bring you closer to God the Creator of everything pure and intended for our good before we were all conditioned to want straight hair...
