I've always preferred single coil pickups. My all-time favorite being the original Danelectro lipstick tube pickups. I think the most surprising thing with this $68 guitar is the chord that comes with it. Remarkably noise free for a cheap chord. Though how long till it gets noisy remains to be seen.

Just found your channel and I dig it. I am going to recommend you do a best guitar tuner shoot out😂. I buy and mod stuff CONSTANTLY. I have expensive guitars and once had way more, but only have like 5 or 6 American made guitars now when I used to buy USA made exclusively. The bandit vid brought me. I have sort of started collecting the American predators and reactors(tele). Your bandit video was very informative and I appreciate it. Looking to find one. Preferably either an early/mid 80s or peaveys latest model. Yours sounds great. That full, responsive clean sound is why I want it (chickn' pickn')

How does the neck carve compare to Fender MIA vs Squier? Did the Glarry builders shave off wood from the shoulders or is it chunky like a Tele? I had to stop messing with Squiers because all the Indonesian built ones are too skinny. Same width and depth , at least withing 0.5mm, but the carve from the fretboard front edge back and don't leave the fretboard edges flat carving from the glue line back -- changes the circumference a lot. Here's something for you: put the Armstrong Blender circuit on there, wiring only change where the second tone knob blends between SSS and HSH.
@mistermojo19695 жыл бұрын
Nice review, Whip. Glad to see you back. I'm playing a Hedean Strat "influenced" guitar right now from Rondo that I'm still on the fence about even after a pro setup. Fresh strings have helped, but still might flip it for something else down the road. A Glarry, maybe?

Hey, you're back! Glad to see you. I think the pickups sound a bit brittle but not hideous or anything. I hear the necks on those Glary's are '50s style. That may be a bit thick of a neck if you're just a kid getting one of these.

A lot of people throw shade at these guitars because they don't have the functional brain cells to lean how to set-up a guitar. Considering how cheap this guitar is, I would imagine it would need some work. Heck, these days, the high priced Gibsons, Fenders, and PRS guitars need work on them when they arrive! I like you nut file/saw. Where did you get it? How much was it? I was thinking of making my own with skill saw blades or hacksaw blades (with small teeth, of course).
@whipscheapguitars28565 жыл бұрын
Its an Exacto saw and its about.010" so its good for the high E but not much else....I have a small round file for the big strings and a set of Feeler gauges for the other plain strings. You just pick the feeler gauge thats the same thickness and "burr" up the edge of the gauge on a grinder.....presto! Nut files.
@Axess-sv8nq5 жыл бұрын
Excellent ideas! I will look for that stuff in December. :-) Thank you!

I got one and the thing can't be properly tuned. I tried everything from neck release to moving the saddles back and forth to no good end. I will try the nut job next but I don't have my hopes high though.

I get the impression a good set up, some tweaking like playing around with pup height, and willingness to actually use the tone control goes a long way with a cheap guitar.

Radstorm I have 2 Glarry Strats. They both needed alot of work. I bought a tusq nut for both and they hold tuning good now. Both guitars I had to replace the same bad tuning key on both. Think the G tuner. 1 guitar I had to level and crown all the frets. Both turned out to be great daily players.

Anyone know what the neck radius is on these? Cheap doesn't bother me, cheap tuners, hardware, etc...all ok... but those damn 14" radius flat fretboards on inexpensive guitars are a dealbreaker for me. Duh, if you are copying a strat.... how about a 9.5 radius board?
@whipscheapguitars28565 жыл бұрын
I would call the frets medium jumbo, the neck profile a "D" if not almost a "u" . The nut is 42mm, and the radius looks like about a 10"
@scottcummings86025 жыл бұрын
Really? It’s that round? A 9.5 or 10 would be fantastic. I just assumed it was probably a 14” like SX, Harley Benton, and other lower end makers.
