People think it was the fart that got him, but it was actually the build up of C02 that caused him to panic. He forgot airholes and it built up till he started having issues breathing and his lungs constantly had co2 in them which makes you feel like you are suffocating. He acts out and burns the oxygen he has left, until he finally passes out due to the exertion without enough oxygen.
