I got some really good news. The company told me to let everybody know and start getting excited that there is an adapter for the adapter that I can charge at Tesla superchargers probably within the next two weeks that’s gonna be a fun addition to this trip.

You mentioned there will be some exciting news coming about the adapters. It’s nice that you are closely tied into Accraine. My dream adapter would be NACS to Chademo supporting plug-n-charge, so we could just plug in the adapter to Tesla supercharger and it starts to charge. I don’t know if that’s the exciting news you were suggesting, but that would be exciting to me. Thanks for the beautifully painted bridge today.

In about one week as they send the replacement for my adapter, your dreams are getting ready to come true because the thing you’re dreaming of is created and will also be here in my hands next week to test so it’s kind of good that things happen the way they happen because on the second leg of the journey when everything happens again in a few weeks, I’m gonna have two different types of charging stations I could charge it that are new to the Nissan leaf. One of them is your dream chargers just wait for it. I’m not spilling the beans just yet

I just talked to them. They are sending me a replacement a brand new one that is not a test unit because the one I have is a test unit I’ve been using and it does a little bit more than what the consumer one does but I’m getting a replacement and doing this all over again. Also a surprise adapter that’s going to blow people’s minds.

They are not gonna send the parts after all. I’m just sending it back. They’re sending me three different adapters two ccs1 to chademo and a chademo to nacs. So when I get those and start back out on the trip again, it’s even gonna be more epic because watch out Tesla Nissan’s gonna be charging your chargers

​@@nomadichippie very interesting about the Tesla to Chademo will adapter. I had heard that Nissan is going to be allowed to use the chargers but I thought it was only going to apply to the Aria which comes with CCS. All the manufacturers that are currently allowed to use the Tesla chargers have to go through some sort of testing protocol and blessing by Tesla before they are allowed to connect with a Tesla charger. I'm wondering if when test the authorizes Nissan, probably thinking only about the Aria, if it will just automatically work with all Nissan including Chademo vehicles. It won't be interesting to see how it plays out. You are on the cutting edge of this and its pretty exciting to see.

Have you seen and considered the A2Z EV CCS adaptor as a backup at all? I’ve seen really positive things about it and want one. Love your videos I have a 2024 Leaf Plus 😍

I have seen them. I would like one of those, but I prefer working with this company. They’re more personal and they just created something that nobody else has for the Nissan leaf that I will be receiving next week when I receive my replacement adapter, but I definitely would like to Have a2z to test between each other, but I prefer aacraine just for customer service and personal communication. They are always above and beyond. But the thing they just created that I will be doing a video on soon when I receive the product hopefully in a week or two when I get my replacement will have something to do with Tesla superchargers that’s all I’m gonna say lol

Rats, even though I no longer own a Leaf I was looking forward to seeing you complete a successful road trip with that adapter. I just sold my adapter to another Leaf owner. I never got a chance to use it as my Leaf no longer exists due to it's demise during the last hurricane. If your surprise is what I think it is you will be one happy camper. I have one for my Bolt and it's a game changer. I laugh as I drive by EVgo and Electrify America on my way to my favorite WaWa with 20 charge stations to choose from - all working 🙂

Don't apologies after all it was not your fault the adaptor failed. Just disappoint for you that now you have to turn around and go back. To my mind the company should of given you a second device anyway to make sure the trip was a success, but at least they are sending a replacement. Happy to support you with more money should you need it, just let us know! Have a safe trip back!! PS Ive made my trip to Germany by the way that is where I am typing from. The number of chargers here in Europe is crazy man. I have kept the dash cam footage and will upload to my youtube channel once I get back home next week. Done the same amount of miles as you 706 miles.

The company is amazing. They’re sending a new adapter on shipping. This one back they were gonna send me parts to try and fix it but they’re sending me two new adapters and a bonus adapter for a charger that well let’s just say is Super lol

I was charging sometimes up to 95% trying to get the heat high but it never got that high on nine charges in one day has stayed about 110°. It was really semi cool.

Can you use the Longood adapter as a backup? Or is it still not working for you? In Europe it is even working at Tesla v3/v4 with a small resistor mod. Have you checked out if you maybe have a stuck relay in your Longood adapter? It should work pretty well by now.

I was going to keep going, but the road test was to use the adapter and not use chademo. So I turned around to get a regular unit not a test unit and will be back out. I could’ve continued with just the regular charging, but the reason for the trip was to test the adapter.
