Hi Everyone!! It was brought to my attention that I made a mistake on the listing for glaze combo used in the Photo Recap section of this video on the gorgeous Pink Mugs. I used AMACO's Flux Blossom not Mayco's Flux Blossom...It was an boo-bo. I review my listings over and over but this one got past me. I have no way of fixing the error in the video itself so I hope this comment will suffice! 😬

I love, love, love that refired bowl and I WANT that mug that was right after the bowl! It looks like it had some irridescence on it? Thanks for sharing!

I'm going to be opening a kiln load later today😬...I've got my shop update this Sat so I've have a lot of measuring and photos to take, probably my least favourite part of the process...😵‍💫... No irridescence, there is a bit of texture on that piece as I'd carved lines on just the top ⅓ and it made the glaze pool and go super shiny..🤭

I don’t think so.🤔 The kiln load that I just fired I filmed everything but I’m really focused on getting my site ready for the shop update this Sat so editing the kiln opening has to wait..I’m elbows deep in measuring, taking pics and listing…I wish I could get someone to do this for me…not fun at all! With that said, the glaze firing has got some really nice things that I was super pleased with. As always it’s lovely hearing from you! 🥰😊

Shipping cost are really quite high, not to mention import fees and other duties that different countries tack on... I don't even pretend to understand it, with that said, my shipping fees that are added at check out do not include all the additional fees that could potentially be added on upon entry to your country, therefor you would be responsible. Shipping within NA we don't have the additional duites, VAT, import fees etc. well at least not for pottery/ceramics but as for the rest of the world I recommend looking into what the additional cost may be.

With that said, if you do make a purchase I will do my very best to keep shipping cost down, I have set a flat rate shipping fee to UK based off of some general address info and I created an average cost. If there is an overage with your particular destination I’ll refund the difference, to help keep fees down for you…as for additional duties etc…that I can’t help with. Have you ever tried freezing a stuck pot and cookie before trying to remove it? Usually it will pop loose if it’s not a huge drip..

Another thing I learned is not to make cookies with porcelain because it apparently gets sticky in firing. And they actually stick worse. Do you use porcelain?

Hi Sarah, I have a 1998 2329 LT Gare Kiln with a fireright Kiln sitter. I think yours may be similar? I'm trying to figure out how to do the hold when I reach cone 5 or cone 6 but can't find any information online. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Sara! The only way I was able to do a hold was once the sitter drops, I would carefully lift it back into position, sometimes I would prop it other times it would balance nicely, then press the start button again, set a timer on my phone and make sure that I drop the sitter again when my hold is over. If you have a thermocouple you can monitor the temp and adjust (turn on/off) the switches to keep at a steady temp. That's what I did until I got my new digital kiln...now I feel like I have a Rolls Royce in my garage...🤭

@SarahWaltonPottery @sarah thank you so much! I have done this once before because I watched the recording of you doing just that with your old Kiln, and it helped a lot. The only thing I was concerned about is that my pyrometer shows that my temperature continues to drop even when I've turned the kiln back on, and I read that a hold should maintain the same temperature. It definitely slowed down the temperature drop, but it did not hold it at the highest temperature. Is that what yours would do also?

@@toniesolomon I’m so sorry missed your msg!! I always love hearing from you and thank you! The cracked bottom is still water tight as it doesn’t go the the entire floor of the pot, but its strength could be compromised, at first I thought about making it a ‘seconds’ but decided against it as it crossed over the foot so it’s way more vulnerable to break…boo! Well now i get to keep it🤭 I have no problem using it and I’ll see how long it last as an experiment. Btw, the clay body I used doesn’t seem to like being fired 2 time and slightly over ^6 bcuz I had the same thing happen on another pot after. Bummer, cuz the glaze is just gorgeous!!

Hi there. Maybe I can help. Slow down the climb rate of your glaze. Also Im pretty sure you've over fired. If you slow the rate of the climb there is no need to soak at the end. Looking at the cones you've definitely over fired. The third cone should have remained erected. Cheers. Jeananne 72 year potter. Potting for 50 years. you've definitely over fired. Good on you.
