Do you get the aluminum hydrate on Amazon? Can you drop a link?
@PerrinPottery16 минут бұрын
That’s funny. I just unloaded the kiln and also had a spoon stuck on my alumina rod. 🤦🏼♀️

As always such a scrumptious lot of glaze combinations. It's always such fun to watch your videos. You are an absolute natural in front of the camera. Your fun beautiful sense of humor. Unfortunately it's not good to have unseasonable weather 😢. Shows how mother earth is so very angry with us humans not taking care of the natural world. We are having extremely hot weather here in Australia. Let's hope we don't have too many bushfire. I've lived in Austria as a child and remember the snow ❄ and the freezing temps. Take care and Happy potting 😊

No gold on the 1st piece. Do you use a tool to make the grooves on your salt cellars and cups?
@SarahWaltonPotteryСағат бұрын
Yep I don’t have time to put the gold on it as my kiln is firing with another glaze load. Market is this Sat-Sun! But I appreciate your input. The longer I look at it I absolutely agree with you!! Thanks so much for your support my friend!! 🥰
@SarahWaltonPotteryСағат бұрын
Whoops, yes I use the squared off corner of my trimming tool and just drag it up and down the outside of the pot and it crates the nicest detail for the glaze to catch on. I recently bought a Garrity rib that has groves on it and I made some more butter keepers and used it. It gives a more symmetrical appearance of the groove..when it come out of my kiln I’ll be better able to decide which i prefer..stay tuned!

If it's not all glazed can it be soaked in water to be washed?
@SarahWaltonPotteryСағат бұрын
Yes it can. The clay was fired to cone 6 which vitrifies it and is now waterproof. Only food surface must be glazed to remain safe to eat/drink from as the raw clay can hold food particles. I leave raw clay a lot bcuz it gives a nice feel in the hand. I even put them in the dishwasher. 👌😘

wow. came here after misplacing my smallest hole cutter for several days (man, sometimes i don't appreciate how much i use a tool until it goes mia) and wanted to check out other ceramicists' studio best practices for tips and instead of a few good ideas i received a life changing epic work on every aspect of studio workflow organizing! bookmarked, liked, subbed, the whole shebang. thank you for your help and generosity! ❤

Hi Sarah, I have a 1998 2329 LT Gare Kiln with a fireright Kiln sitter. I think yours may be similar? I'm trying to figure out how to do the hold when I reach cone 5 or cone 6 but can't find any information online. Do you have any suggestions?
@psychitsbee332418 күн бұрын
Instead of the ware repair I recommend bisque fix. It’s a bit expensive (for me as a grad student) but I’ve never had problems with glaze not sticking to it! I will say though it does dry kinda rough so I recommend a little sanding before glaze. Only problem I have ever had was a bit of a matte spot where the bisque fix was. (Also all of your work is gorgeous 💕)

Hi. I have been watching you for about 5 month now....I don't know what happened, but KZbin stopped notifying me about new videos I follow - a long time ago. So I have to keep a video of yours up in my tabs just so I don't miss anything. I am a 71-year-old selling fine artist who inherited a butt-load of pottery equipment from a dear lady who went into assisted living. So, I'm living it up in my new life as - a potter!!!! And who best to teach me the beauty of glazing, but YOU! You are my guru. I have just made my first bellied mug on the wheel (I have to catch up fast). And of course, I HAD to try Archie's Base over Fairy Rose. Well, it was pretty, BUT, it wasn't juicy like yours. I used 2 coats of each over Little Loafers clay. It didn't run much. So what? more Archies? I am addicted to your videos, BTW! Hugs, cat

I get much higher prices. The Embossing Rollin pin that you payed $0.79 (original price 7.99) I get 124.94sek (original 402.29sek) (a canadian dollar is 7.66sek). So my price with 68% of is more than twice your original price and my original price is more than 6.5 times yours.
@SarahWaltonPottery23 күн бұрын
That’s so strange..🤔 I believe that the prices in my description are the Canadian price and I guess different parts of the world get different pricing?! 🤷♀️ I wish I could help.
@ingegerdandersson696327 күн бұрын
How do you put them in the kill with glacé on both sides?
@SarahWaltonPottery23 күн бұрын
Hi Inge! I don’t glaze the handle so I usually insert them into a kiln shelf support. I’ve also used stilts and grind smooth the divots with my dremel. I will show them come out of the kiln, I’ve only just finished the bisque fire so it will be soon!
