I always felt Will reached a new low with how grossly he mishandled this situation and it was hard for me to look at him the same again after how horrible and immature he was to Finn here. Finn always instantly forgave Will for the countless errors in judgment he made even though he should’ve known better being twice Finn’s age. Emma didn't call off the wedding because of Finn's kiss, she did it because she wasn't secure enough in her relationship with Will and that's his fault. This scene truly showed despite his youth and his mistakes Finn was the bigger man between the two of them. And watch what your ego and pride make you say because the person you hold a grudge against may not be here tomorrow to accept your apology. Rewatching Glee now I had forgotten just how often Finn was insulted and personally attacked more so than the other characters and even by his own friends, it's really heartbreaking. It's sad that this was Finn's last major storyline and it's a shame he had to die for his character to be treated with more respect. He was a kind soul fighting his demons and searching for peace very much like Cory was. He deserved so much better. ❤️

Honestly, in my headspace, Finn couldn't take the abuse thrown at him anymore and he did something drastically permanent to himself. He was in a downward spiral, long before the pilot, the glee club just lengthened his existence. Once that was over, he felt like he had nothing to live for anymore. It's quite depressing.

True. It was also petty stories they went down. I felt that the creators were trying to make Finn a minor character in this season. Ryan Murphy's planned ending felt a sense of character laziness for Finn which felt annoying.

This feud is without a doubt one of the most controversial feuds on the show. It wasn't needed at all and was just a conflict thought of and put in. Although, it was bad when it first came in, it had monumental impacts on the show.

It had an impact for the outcome. It made finn want to be serious about a teaching career and at the same time confront will and put them both in a relationship of partnerships and equal. At the end of that feud they were two equals. It made finn finally find his path

One reason this arc is so painful is because Finn didn’t know how to say what he wanted to and it came out differently than the actual situation was. Finn wanted to calm Emma down because she was spiraling and didn’t know how.

You know, I can relate to Finn. Sure, he was out of line to kiss Emma, but that doesn't mean Will isn't at fault too. When a person makes a mistake and does wrong, you don't have to respond with wrongness. I know from experience. To give a backstory I was taken to my supervisor's office with her and a high-ranking chef. The chef told me that I've been touching my coworkers too much. Not _THAT_ type of touch, of course not! Just *_casual_* ones, like on arms or shoulders. I was always very outgoing at work. When I asked her if anyone reported a complaint, she said it didn't matter (so I assume yes). She told me that we need the workers to be comfortable in a good work environment, and that I pretty much shouldn't talk about anything other than work and school (I work at a university's catering service). She told me I shouldn't tell my stories because they may be inappropriate to my coworkers. Now yeah, I guess I do occasionally say ✌"inappropriate"✌ stuff at work, but not *_horribly or intentionally._* I just like to joke around and have fun with my coworkers, but maybe it isn't like that for all of them? I really didn't get specific information from the chef about what and whom. She understands/likes that I'm outgoing, but she made it sound risky and in need of limits, for good behavior and my coworkers' sake. And again, that I shouldn't touch anyone without consent. But seriously, I'm not a creep. I didn't mean to be so "handsy" (I say loosely). While I own my mistake, I feel the chef may have gone a little too far too, mishandling the situation like Will. Maybe she lectured me a little too much? Maybe it wasn't fair I was taken to my supervisor's office? Maybe it was condescending for her to say to my boss, "Is there anything you want to add?" while I was IN the room? I'm not denying my mistakes, but at the same time, it feels like she and my boss might have misjudged me. And it doesn't help how the chef actually said, "How was your weekend?" before we entered the office. And the next day, she actually says, "How are you?" What did she think I would say? "I'm great, thank you!" It's rude to ask a polite question the day _after_ a lecture. Fake kindness and patronization are just wrong. Now what if it was me one day, who went like Finn? They would suddenly appreciate me and ignore my faults.

What even WAS this storyline? Finn is like 19 here Mr. Schue is 35. Yeah, Finn shouldn’t have kissed Emma, but he only did it because Will triggered her to have a meltdown when he was planning on uprooting their lives and made her plan a wedding for them all by herself. To be honest the writers started seriously jumping the shark after they had Rachel get into NYADA after choking at her audition by harassing and stalking the dean of admissions. Yeah, there were a handful or so of some really cringeworthy writing choices for the characters, going all the way back to S1, but there usually was some semblance of self-awareness of it. I’m fully convinced RIB and the writers had no idea WTF they were doing anymore with any of the original characters midway-late S3.

In this scene, Finn and Will are seen in the auditorium. Will says as he makes his way to the stage, "we need to do something muscular, like Biggie vs. 2Pac. Now, we know how that ended." Finn says, "look, we don't need to do this stupid assignment, Mr. Shue." "Don't act like you're above these kids, Finn." Will corrects him. "Not that long ago, you were one of them." Finn tells Will, "we can just talk." Will pauses and chuckles for a second before he says, "unless you have some stunning new revelation about why you kissed my bride-to-be, I've already heard everything you had to say. Besides, I don't think you can take it." Finn stands up, look directly at Will and says, "I can take it." Will says, "okay." Then he walks to the center of the stage and goes, "I put you in charge of the glee club, Finn, not because you were a National champion, and not because you were qualified for something like a teaching degree, or even a single college credit for that matter. I gave you the glee club because you were lost. You just got dumped by your girlfriend. You flunked out of the army. And the real truth is, I just took pity on you." "Wow." Finn says. "Yeah," Will tells him, "you wanted to talk." "Yeah, I did," Finn says, "but I-" "So, I put all this trust on you, so that you could get back on your feet." Will tells him. "And, what did you do? You betrayed me in the worst way possible. You broke the code of a brother, Finn." "I know that." Finn says, "and I'm so sorry." "Sorry's not gonna cut it." Will says to Finn as he shakes his head. While leaving the stage, he goes, "so, start thinking of some of the nastiest music feuds you can come up with, because we are doing this assignment." While he reaches to Finn, he concludes, "and I'm gonna kick your ass." Then Will nods and leaves the auditorium, leaving Finn there looking surprised and shocked.
