Waylon, late in life on the Opry Homecoming videos, gives a nod to Glen Campbell for his help early in his Nashville career.

In my radio DJ days back in 1968,I was backstage hanging around when Waylon walked up to me and asked if there was a coffee shop nearby. I replied there was and he said "Well, let's go get a cup". As we started out the door, a very distinctive voice rang out "Where'r you fellows going?" We told him and he said "Wait for me". So there I was in the coffee shop with Waylon and Tex Ritter, Waylon complaining that Chet Atkins wouldn't let him do what he wanted and Tex telling him to relax, he had records on the charts and getting the good tours and should enjoy it. It is one of my favorite memories!

This is one example of what a wonderful library of quality music is created by Utube, with the songs of the life of Glen Campbell as a stellar example. Now anyone that can sing and play, keep singing these contemporary classics for yourself and others live, and let the chill go down your spine! Don't just listen, if you can, sing and play with others more!

Thank you. Sidelight--I was the Country Music Queen of the Days of ’47 Rodeo in 1972 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Third largest parade in USA after Macy’s and Rose. I LOVED that Appaloosa--but that was a long ride waving at every cowboy on the route in the hot Utah sun! The country station was owned by Buck Owens. I used to have a watch-given to me by Buck-that showed Buck; his guitar handle was the hour hand, and arm was minute hand. Hell of a businessman--pretty nice guy!

To open his Show at the HBO sponseted cable convention party in Dallas in '81, Glenn's full orcherta starting playining on a dark stage "Rinestone Cowboy' and when they built to the first crsendo, Glenn jumped thru a 10' x 10'' white screen at the front of the stage with his live guiter screaming "Like A Rinestone Cowboy"! The polite, assembled (400) of Cable TV Exes jumped from their seats and acted liked teen kids at a first USA Beatles concert,... the crowd went wild. Glenn was great and introed his new friend, Tanys Tucker (a real beaut then) and closed with a standing crowd.. One of the best live preformances I have ever seen, And as a music biz man, I hsve seen the best and thoudands of tines. This was Glenn at his top, like Elvis, IMHO.
