It's eleven in the morning here on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I'm drinking Colombian coffee, and the tears that roll down my face.

At my maternal grandma's in Gaylord, Michigan, listening on the radio station there; the only one she could get out in the country on her farm. My sibs and I are colouring, drawing, and making paper dolls and paper doll clothes on rolls of cheap scrap paper that our uncle brought home from the paper mill where he worked, but we felt like this was the BEST couple of weeks away from Saginaw. So much more stuff to do and see and experience on her farm. This song came on, and me, I'm mesmerized and after all these years, I'm still mesmerized by the music and the lyrics, and it brings me back to the magic of my simple childhood spent doing ordinary things, which I wish my kids and my grands and greats will experience and love as I did...

It had to be sad for his children to watch him fade away. He made such a deep impact in my life that I have a real heartfelt respect for him. Jimmy Webb wrote most of the best songs and Glen made them come alive. I am forever grateful for all of it. I know that because of his Christian faith there will be many of us who will see him again. A talent like his is now blessing God's ears directly. Oh, what a glorious day it will be!

This song makes me weep for many reasons. It is one of my favorites. It's one of Glen Campbell's musical scores you don't hear as often.

Glen Campbell was one of my dad's favorites. Still resonates with even more emotion now that my dad and Glen are no longer here.

OMG! The memories of "my Nana", dancing in the kitchen to her 8 track Glenn Campbell tapes, and this song, more than ever resonates the best memories in Memphis of my southern childhood...

I took guitar lessons in the 60's, and this is one of the first songs I learned to play when he released it. It was wonderful back then taking lessons and learning his hits as he released them. Thank you, Glen, for your inspiration. You are missed.

This song makes me cry now :'-( I didn't understand it when I was younger but the older I've gotten I actually get what he's talking about. Understanding the lyrics on top of Glen dying, I can't help but to shed tears when I hear this. R.I.P. Mr. Campbell.

I went to a Toby Keith concert last friday and he did a tribute to Glen Campbell. He sang this song...its very haunting to me now. Everyone I used to watch when I was younger is passing away, my heart is so sad. You should youtube Toby Keiths version...RIP Glen....Like a Rhinestone Cowboy...riding out on a horse in a star spangled rodeo.....forever!

Yes, when I heard this on the radio, it was like a bolt of lightning from the deep blue skies, sounding like an old country ballad, and then suddenly psychedelic rapture more akin to Pink Floyd. Glen's vocal hit my heart like a golden arrow, and I wondered how such an ordinary song could be so transcendental; I still can't calculate it, it's just great art conjuring the wide open spaces and the loneliness of the sprawling heavens above as a simple man goes about his tasks and his mind wanders to his lover lost. There is something magic in Glen even though sometimes he couldn't control it. RIP one of the special ones.

Great song. The saying it's easy to play guitar but hard to play well goes here. GC was a maestro and made simple melodies sound wonderful and then he'd rip off a lead with the best of them. Bravo!
