She said she did not have her coach at the training village for 2.5weeks. The gentleman says the coach got a a coach’s pass to Go to the days when she was competing. He was very strategic in his answer to make her look like she is a liar.

I am a Jamaican masters discus and javlin athlete. I have reached out to JAAA multiple times asking how i can represent Jamaica at the World Outdoor Masters Championships and they havent felt it is important enough to respond. Jamaican field events carried the entire team in Paris. Time these athletes get treated with respect

Listening is a very important skill. She said she did not have her coach for two weeks before the competition to help her prepare. He said the coach was given a pass for the competition. That's two different things. If they try to bar her from the Olympics, the people should stand up for her. The leaders want to act out when they are called out.

Wayne Walker seems so distasteful and cocky. Jamaica should ensure that this doesn’t happen again. Time for a shake up of the JOA and JAAA. We are getting first hand view of how incompetence, arrogance and confidence without clarity is ruining Jamaica, one public body at a time. We should not stand for this. And when people speak up that’s the response… threat of being annihilated and cancelled….thats why people are afraid to speak out, but what’s the alternative? Settling for the BS? No way.

It seems that the JAAA and the JOA want the spots for their friends and family… going along as delegation members. The sponsors need to demand a full breakdown of how their money is spent. Some people are only there for what they can scrape and the athletes don’t get the benefit. Blast dem, call them out on their BS and apply the pressure.

❤thank God Mr Glen Mills spoke up. I always say that athletes have no one to represent them. Jamaican Athletes deserve to be treated better from school years into adulthood. They train hard puts their best out there yet it always a problem to invest in them in more ways than one. I volunteered for years with a couple high schools helping as assistant with athletes so I know that better can be done to make them feel good about how they are treated. 🇯🇲🇯🇲💯

Coaching passes for the day of the event is different from being given a pass to train the athlete prior to the day of the competition. The lady spoke the truth.

These Olympics have shown that Jamaica has the potential to have several Olympic champions on the track as well as in the field events if the field events athletes begin to get the respect they deserve. The impression I'm getting from the comments played is that she said she didn't have her coach with her for 2.5 weeks while Mr Watts is saying her coach had a pass to the stadium on the day of competition. Two different things. Lamara Distin, ranked #3 in the world in the high jump had the same complaint. Shaneika Ricketts had the same issue at a previous Championship if memory serves me correct. Her husband is her coach as well. A general coach will not have the intimate knowledge of where these field events athletes are at or be able to give them the individual attention they might need during the Games. An athlete could have picked up a minor injury or some other issue after National Trials and needs their coach's assistance right up to the moment of competition to get them ready. It's time the Jamaican officials start addressing the specific needs of the field events athletes as they have proved at this Olympics that they deserve better recognition and bigger share of the available resources.

I am glad I am not the only one who picked it up. He must think he is slick. This is the hallmark of an untrustworthy person. He sidestepped and failed to address her complaint that she did not have the benefit of her coach for the entire duration of her stay in the village. Getting the coach on the day of the event in the stadium is like pouring a drop of oil into a bucket of water. It won't do anything. I am so frustrated to realise that many of our athletes would have done significantly better had we been more organized.

To those seniors in charge, the response to the althlete and maybe others we are not aware of and the way in which he responded, speaks volume of the power involved and our athletes should be looked after and treasured or else we are at risk of loosing of athletic status to the world. They gave him pass for the competition but not ahead to help her during her rounds. Two and a half weeks without her coach. Not acceptable on every level.

An absolute atrocity that the Jamaica athletic Association and the Jamaica Olympic Association is in advertently limiting the excellent performance of athletes that have kept Jamaica’s name at the forefront of TRACK AND FIELD FOR DECADES. SHAME SHAME SHAME, SHAME. We must fix this, our athletes deserve better our Country deserves better so we can continue to be world beaters on the track and in the field events too.

He got coaching pass for inside the stadium that is different from the training ground he would have to be accredited. Where the id would state where he could go.
