Maybe because it reminds you of your youth? And this is irretrievably over? At least that's how I feel.🙁

Because it is about how brutally hard life is in this world, whether you are old enough to remember it on that AM Radio, whether you ever made it big, or not. Because it is everyone's story.

Heard a recent interview with Glen Campbell on the radio. When asked what he liked most about fame he said being able to help his mum and dad get out of the grinding poverty he was brought up in.

Talk about leaning your head back, closing your eyes, and travelling back to times when everything just seemed to matter more.
A song that always brings back lovely memories of my dad.....he was and always will be, my Rhinestone Cowboy ..❤

That was just what the Doctor ordered! That was a beautiful tune penned by the great Jimmy Webb & I still love it!! Glen Campbell was an awesome guitarist and an even better vocalist. Someone should do the country a favor and re-release his music so a new generation can get a dose of something ever so excellent!

I was 12 when i heard this song and in America for the first time. My family and I were driving along when we came accross a Policeman directing traffic with his gun whilst singing, whilstling and doing tricks. We kids got a huge thrill out of this and just loved it. This evening for some reason the song came to my mind again and it brought the sheer joy of seeing and experiencing America through the eyes and ears of a child on that marvelous day in L.A. right back to me. Thanks.
