Yes that was one of the bug fixes in 1.04 I believe. If you press the CTL button the Accel will be highlighted, on the right screen under "Func" turn the knob all the way to the right until you see LED On/Off. Now the light will turn on.

Because if you use these things in what they can "4 Cable Method" which is hooking it up the the FX loop of an amp and the amp input at the same time you can have certain things hitting the input of the amp and other things like time based FX going to the FX loop which is after the amps gain stage. That's the advantage of being able to move things around in the FX chain. It's just like using traditional pedals.

Very easy to do. First press the system button and scroll to the Phrase Loop block. On the right screen set the pedal function to OFF. The press the CTL/EXP button and scroll over to an assign, set the Source to P. Loop pedal, turn the assign ON and set the Target category to whatever effect you want.

Well as far which is better, that depends on the application. Both the HD's & The GT's have strengths & weaknesses. Which one is better should be up to you and the way you would use the device. Both are top notch products and you can't go wrong with either one.

No you don't have to cycle through them. You set them up to have the same pedal trigger them all at the same time. For example, My lead boost has a 20db volume jump, 20db delay level jump, EQ Mid boost and Delay Level Feedback increase. All at the same time when I press my lead boost pedal. I show all of this in the video. Just follow along with it.
@GlennDeLauneOfficial11 жыл бұрын
That's a good question Darren, I have discovered recently that it is best to have the FV at the very End of the Chain right before the Digital Block. That way when you have aq patch with some gain on it you can reduce the volume without affecting the gain of the amp.

Just checking. Sometimes the easiest thing gets overlooked. I guess the next thing would be to make sure you are properly connected. Guitar > GT-100 guitar in GT-100 effect send > Amp front input GT-100 effect return > Amp FX Send GT-100 L Mono output > Amp FX Loop return
@GlennDeLauneOfficial11 жыл бұрын
yes i believe there is a way. You would have to put all of the FX in the GT-100 into each amp block. A or B and go L&R out to your amps. That way everything that is in amp block A in the GT would go out of the L output and everything that is in amp block B in the GT would go out of the right output.

First go to the Boss website and download & install the drivers for your Boss unit. Also while you are there download the Boss Librarian and install that after you install the drivers. Then hook up your GT-100 to your computer with USB and turn it on. Your computer should recognize the GT. Open Librarian and at the top of the window under "setup" make sure your Gt-100 is selected. This will enable you to load and save your sounds to your computer.

HEy Glann, Your probably not answering questions on this topic any longer, but im wondering something. I am trying to set up my gt100 the correct way, but im finding there is no correct way, just the way we want it, if that makes sense. So I have 40 songs in my play list. Should I be making a sound for each song, and naming that patch the name of each song, hence, 40 different patches, or should I be making a universal clean sound, and adding distortion, effect, etc, when I need it by clicking an assign? I know you play out alot using these toys, but just wondering what the most effective way for stage playing is best. Hope to hear from you. It seems that creating 40 individual patches is the most accurate, so you dont have to fumble through the effects, or remember which pedals do what. Problem I am having is patch level unity. One will be louder and the other will be lower, and gaining unity seems to be my downfall. Any suggestions, tips, etc? Peace
@GlennDeLauneOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Hi Monty, what I do is make a universal clean, mild gain, main gain, lead boost. With that configuration you could probably cover your entire set. If there are songs that require a special effect maybe just those songs can be on their own.
@MontyDeane4 жыл бұрын
@@GlennDeLauneOfficial ps, I have all of your patches. I guess Im starting with a patch. Universal clean is the patch? I am assuming mild gain and main gain are an assign as well. Can u give me an example of mild gain, main gain? or maybe you have them all setup in one patch? Lead boost is an assign. So for clarity again, one patch with assigns to different gains, etc. Maybe im asking the same thing over and over again. Forgive me, just trying to wrap my head around the complexity. Thanks bro

The Boss units have totally seamless switching so you can work on a preset by preset basis. So, for example, If you look at my Standard Patch set you'll see how I have them named. So in one bank that contains 4 switches (A, B, C & D) I may have Clean, Crunch Sustain, High Gain and Lead for those 4 switches. Then you also have the Acell switch and the CTL switch. Those I have programmed to work within each of those 4 sounds as an added layer to each preset.

Hi Glen; Excellent video! However, I have a question. How do I switch from GT 100 preamps to my Blackstar HT Club 40 Combo preamp? I can do it manually by turning on S/R and turn off GT preamps. How can I achieve this by just hitting a pedal or switch. I'm using the four cable method. I also have a Blackstar foot switch with a channel button and reverb pedal. This is plugged into the back of my amp. Any ideas? Phil

Hi Glen; Thanks for the reply:) I plugged in a BOSS FS 6 pedal into the SUB CTL/EXP jack. I then pushed CTL/EXP button and scrolled to "SUB CTL 1" and changed the function to "PREAMP" with MIN set to ON, MAX set to ON and SOURCE MODE set to TOGGLE. I did the same with the 'SUB CTL 2. Is that correct? Is that all there is to it? Phil
@GlennDeLauneOfficial9 жыл бұрын
Phil Bardoul Yes Phil I think you got it there. So SUB CTL 1 would turn on/off the GT Preamp and SUB CTL2 would turn on/off the GT's S/R loop. That's it. If it doesn't work with the toggle setting change the switch on the FS-6.

Hi Glenn, When you make assignments to your Accel/CTL pedal(or any pedal for that matter), for example where you put Assign 3 (Delay2), Assign 4 (PreampA), and Assign 5 (PreampB) all to the Accel/CTL pedal, do these settings cause the original CTL/EXP menu assignment for that pedal (where you set SoloA&B) to work at the same time as the Accel functions you assigned, or does the assignments for the pedal override anything you set for that pedal under the CTL/EXP menu? In other words, in your video example, will the Accel/CTL now switch Delay2, PreampA and B boost on, and NOT do the SoloA&B you assigned via CTL/EXP? Thanks!
@sologuitarSOLO914610 жыл бұрын
Meant to ask the same question about how you assigned the expression pedal to control your PreampA and PreampB boost values. If the CTL/EXP menu assignment for the expression pedal was set to Wah/FV, does the assignments made to the expression pedal cause the Wah/FV to no longer work? Thanks.
@GlennDeLauneOfficial10 жыл бұрын
NKC WOW, That's a very technical question!! First, the ACCL/CTL menu is totally different than the EXP settings. All of the assigns can be set to the ACCL & PRASE LOOP pedals for several things to happen at once.Second, Unless you turn the EXP pedal to OFF (like I do in one of my custom patches called "Nugent") then, Yes. That "OFF" setting on the EXP pedal will override the pedal settings. That's the only way you can get that infinite delay setting using the expression pedal. Also it must be set to "Momentary" NOT "Toggle". That's the most common mistake people make when trying to program these settings.
@sologuitarSOLO914610 жыл бұрын
***** Ok. That's very helpful information. So given these two examples am I making the right assumption? 1. CTL/EXP menu > Expression Pedal > set to WAH/FV Assignment1 for Expression pedal > set to PreampA boost Assignment2 for Expression pedal > set to PreampB boost now when I move the Expression pedal (and it is set to toggle)...I will get both WAH/FV and Preamp boosting at same time 2. CTL/EXP menu > Accel/CTL > set to Chorus Assignment3 for Accel/CTL > set to Delay now when I hit the Accel/CTL I get both Chorus and Delay together (not just Delay) Thanks much.

The GT-100 guide only shows a picture of the back of the FS-6 showing all switches placed in the left position for polarity and mode (momentary). I did get the TRS cable that has on connection on the GT-100 side and a separate connection for A and B on the FS-6. Are you set up the same way in terms of the switches all set to the left? Also, however you do have it set to, do you ever have a reason to change yhe momentary/latch switches based on the patch you are using? Thanks much!

The Mode switches are both in Latch mode and the Polarity switches are set to the left.

Great video, thanks. I don't get Assigns. If a single patch can have lots of assigns how is each assign activated? Thanks.

Great video Glenn! On my GT-100 when I use a high gain amp model (like the MS amps) and I have the gain turned (say to 90) , I'm getting a lot of noise, even with the guitar volume knob turned off. As soon as I insert a noise gate in front or after the amp model, the noise goes away. The noise sounds like static white noise, it's not a hum. If I use no amp models, or turn the amp model gain down the noise goes away. Is this normal or do you think there is something wrong with my GT-100 or its power supply? I've tried using a ground wire and lifting the ground but it makes no difference. I'm using the 4 cable method and I've also tried it with 2 cable method and plugged into the amp input and even into another amp and same issues. I tried my Zoom G3 into the amp input and it has no noise at all, unlike the GT-100. Thanks in advance!

Thanks B. yeah you don't need to turn your gain that high. If you switch the Gain switch to High you'll find you only need to turn the Gain up to only 30. If you need more gain that that use a stomp in front of the amp with a low gain setting.

Hello. I want to use CTL to turn on/off delay, and use the p.loop pedal to control delay tempo and other effects tempo as well. I already managed to det CTL and also P. Loop pedal to tap tempo delay. But I can't find the way to control other effects tempo. My idea was to be able to set tempo on all time based efffects like delay, tremolo, phaser etc with just tapping one pedal or at least 2 separate ones (one for delay and other one for other effects). Any idea how can I set global tap tempo for all effects?

Hello Glenn, great video, thanks for that. But i have a specific problem. I connected the GT100 with the 4 cabel method with my 3 channel Bugera Trirec. Now i want to select for each patch the right channel. E.g. patch U01-1 -> Amp channel 3, patch U01-2 -> amp channel 1,.....Is it possible or do the GT100 only send PCH of the patch? I think there should be a mapping like "if you choose patch xyz send the PCH where the amp is listing for the specific channel. I have no idea how to realize this. BR Ralf

+Ralf Wieland Unfortunately No. The GT-100 does have an amp switch but it can only switch two channels. You would need MIDI to do this and your amp does not have MIDI. You can try a TRS cable connected to the AMP Switch jack on the GT but I doubt it will work.
@ralfwieland82989 жыл бұрын
Hello Glenn, thanks for the very quick answer. The amp has midi, but fixed program change commands. If the amp receive a midi PGM001 he is switched to CH1, PGM002 ->CH2 and PGM003 -> CH3.
@GlennDeLauneOfficial9 жыл бұрын
Yes if the amp has MIDI then it should work. Hook a MIDI cable from the MIDI out of the GT-100 and to the MIDI in of amp. Then to program it (And this is important) First put the GT on a different patch that you want to program like for example patch U002. Then on your amp put the channel you want it to switch to when you press U001 on the GT-100. Once you have the amp channel on the channel you want THEN you press the GT U001 pedal. From that point on when ever you press the GT U001 pedal your amp should switch to that channel. That's how it works with my Marshall JVM so it should work the same way for yours.

+Glenn DeLaune very intreasting. i have a laney irt studio and it has a midi footswitch 3 channels, boost and reverb. is it possible to replace that original footswitch with gt100 using the midi in of the amp and store presets with different channels??
@GlennDeLauneOfficial9 жыл бұрын
Yes if the amp has MIDI it should work no problem. Check out this video. It's using the GT-10 but the GT-100 works the same way. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKHQk3iZjst4kKs

Hi Glenn...!! Thanks for the videos, they're awesome. Is it possible to do a tap delay using maybe the FS-6? Thanks again.
@GlennDeLauneOfficial10 жыл бұрын
Gammasbote Yes you can. You use the assigns for that.

Hi Glenn I recently brought your patch bundle for the GT 100 & the FS6 footswitch after viewing this video I cant seem to get the F6 to work properly or consistently sometimes it dose as instructed and sometimes not (or with every second push of the switch) - what are the basic parameters I need to set up in order for the FS6 to work effectively ? Appreciate any feedback thanks :-)

Great tutorials. I bought the GT 100 based on your excellent 'sound on sound' vid.. Not sure if I am following this correctly, or you may have explained, but I am trying to figure out a way assigning the built in Vol/Exp pedal to control the delay volume as I use an Ernie Ball Vol for my volume.. thanks
@GlennDeLauneOfficial10 жыл бұрын
Thank you John. That's a tricky one. First you have to turn OFF the volume pedal in the system menu. Then you have to go into the assigns menu and set the target to EXP and the source to delay Level.

Hi Glenn, im trying to do something so simple with my gt 100 yet so dam hard.... for me anyway hehe, i want to somehow set it up so that the foot buttons turn on and off individual fx that i choose but otherwise there is nothing else in the mix, ie; im using my amps clean or dirty channel naked (the sound, not me while playing) with the option to "stomp" an effect on or off. is this possible?

The system changes you make like turning off the phrase loop feature..is it for only this particular patch or the looper is turned off for all the patches ??

How does the GT 100 compare to the HD500x. I have the 500x and I think it sounds and feels a bit compressed. Not the greatest dynamics. Is the GT 100 any better?
@LunaGuitars6811 жыл бұрын
Hi..just got the GT100 and trying to figure everything out. I have 2 tube amps I like to use at the same time. One sounds good with effect pedals going directly to the front of the amp and the other amp sounds best with effects going through the fx loop. Do you know if the gt100 would have the capabilities of running a single patch, splitting that patch and running the signal to the front end of one amp but through the fx loop of the other while keeping both amps independent of each other.

would you say the gt100 is the best on the market at the moment,,been looking at the eleven rack but keep coming back to this for an upgrade, currently using a gt8..cheers Glenn great work!
