Why would he waste his time on Trump's endless corrupt and criminal acts, which are extensively covered and often blindingly obvious to all, when he can instead expose the less overt corruption of the Democrats and the corporate media who are instrumental in manufacturing consent for the perpetuation of the underlying system of neoliberal corruption and warmongering, by forcing the limit of acceptable opinion on the left to the center-right rather than a genuine progressive position? That said, it's not like he doesn't criticise Trump, but generally there's no shortage of people taking up the reigns, so he leaves it to them.

We also note that in addition to his polite voice and humble manner, Matt's wearing a Mighty Dog t-shirt even though-or perhaps because of-it's well known that Mighty Dog had low self-esteem just makes us love him even more. Maybe in some future episode that he should burst into tears while reporting to further display his emotional vulnerability. Matt's mild persona is a great device that allows him to engage in real journalism journalism while simultaneously appearing harmless. It's a sort of "journalistic judo". Kudos to Matt!
