to my way of looking at things, still the best working class anthem of all time. if we were putting together a top 10 list, I would certainly include Pete Anderson's song " they used to call us the working class" / we're just not working anymore....... and John Lennon's Working Class Hero, although it doesn't exactly sound like an Anthem. and I suppose I would also include the cotton mill Blues, David Lindleys' version, with lyrics like, "$10 a week, that's all you get, how in the hell am I going to pay my debts? you go to work, you work like the devil, at the end of the week, well you ain't on the level, payday come and you pay your rent, then you can't do nothing cuz you ain't got a cent"
