I was really, really young when this came out, so I was all about exciting gameplay and could easily look past framerate issues and such. This probably explains my huge love for XG2. Re-Volt was my most played game as a kid, and I still love it today (On PC, especially). Running Ghost Town 2 in Reverse was really fun to me back in the day, because the AI would get stuck on a crate endlessly. I don't know why, but that really entertained me at the time.

Absolutely loved this. There were different controls to choose from. I always used Junior RC: Handling was not as crazy and I never suffered from framerate issues. I was reluctant to sell my memory card with my track made in the editor.

It really is a great game on PC. There are so many fan-made cars and tracks for it, it's scary! Glenn, just for the sake of clarity, it wasn't WeGo that requested the game be taken down. WeGo had actually used a community-made mod without permission or credit. When GOG were contacted by members of the community GOG themselves decided to take the game down. WeGo never addressed the issue... DISCLAIMER: I'm not trying to stir things up nor am I involved in any of the shenanigans that went on. I just think it's better that people know that GOG and the RV community were positively active while WeGo actually took the money and ran. :)

As someone that is apart of the Re-Volt community, one part of your overview is incorrect. RV was taken down from GOG because it used the community made 1.2 patch with permission, so the community asked to have it taken down. Now, Re-Volt has a source port called "RVGL" and has already added many features such as custom skin selection, horns, and engine sound effects.

I remember loving this and being very impressed with the track builder when I rented it back when it was new, but this game was tough for me to come back to. I bought it for my N64 7 or 8 years ago, but even back then it felt extremely dated, with a very poor framerate and resolution in an otherwise creative and interesting game. It had it's time and place, though. Thanks for keeping the history alive!

i had da demo of this game on dreamcast, but da actal game, i had this version on N64. i loved it. i dint have any gripes with this version at all. it was a very fun racer, and da graphics weren't importent 2 me. da all-around fun of da game i had, came from da fact dat when i was little, much like u, i loved RC cars. so playin a video game baste on them made this game super fun for me. when i couldn't go out in da fresh-air 2 drive my RC car, or da batteries were dead, so i couldn't use it, i jus played this game and got my Rc car fix off of it. i especially like da fact dat there were so many RC cars 2 chose from. this made da game never get boring for me. in real life i only had one RC car, and being dat i couldn't buy batteries alot, this made my hobby of RC car racing accessable 24/7. do i have this game still?. sadly no. i got rid of my N64 a long time ago. i recently bought a new one though, and this game is on my buy-list, if i ever run into it again. i buy my games at a pawn shop, abit of a walk from my house. i have other games i am considering buying. one of da zelda games, any fighting games. i have an open mind about games i want 2 get. watching Glen's reviews are helping me out alot, even though at sum points, i disagree with wat he thinks is a better game. i'm talkin bout him sayin dat mario Fart 64 is better then diddy kong racing. dats a huge laugh. lols. but i am leaving da subject of da matter. point is, this was a fun game from my younger gaming experiences with my N64, dat brings back alot of good memories. i might get this one again if i sees it.

Re-Volt is an interesting concept but it is flawed horribly in execution,The controls are terrible and not realistic to the experience of driving a radio-controlled car. The sounds range from annoying whirs from the motors to clinks when your car unavoidably smacks into a wall or curb, that's about it.
