This episode is quite insightful. As a professional aligned with the building industry in Lagos, I understand the critical role that proper documentation like building permit plays in ensuring the security of your property. The ongoing amnesty program enables property owners without building permits to obtain it without the penal fee. And this amnesty elapses on October 31st 2024.

I particularly appreciate this episode as it highlights the importance of proper due diligence before investing in real estate. As a professional surveyor, I can confidently say that while financial considerations are crucial, involving the right experts is key to safeguarding your investment. Unfortunately, many people are occupying properties they may risk losing due to these common oversights.

Buying an apartment for shortlet can be really tricky if you’re not buying from the right developer that’s when you will have issues, most developers will sell properties and tell you this property will generate more income if used as a shortlet but they don’t guarantee you that it will surely give you that returns you expected, I know of a company that sells serviced apartments and they will help you manage the property, handle the maintenance and get the tenants and they will pay you monthly rental income from daily shortlet, that’s a genuine developer not the ones that just sell properties to you and don’t assist you making returns from that property. This company I’m talking about has built 16 projects in the past 3 years and all their properties are sold out and are fully occupied with tenants renting on daily basis.

Buying a house in Ikoyi is not the same as buying a house in New York City. There is no comparison between the two. This is the problem with these people. Ikoyi that village.

What New York/Manhattan is to the USA, is what Ikoyi is to Nigeria.
@therealitiesoflife01Ай бұрын
@@Emma4dfuture that is correct, when talking of the business center of either countries, but not in the context she was comparing the two in. Am not sure if you fully understand it. She is literally comparing Ikoyi to New York, as if they are on per on real-estate, and that is the craziest thing ever! Compare it with other African cities, not any Western City. It doesn't even make any sense.
@Emma4dfutureАй бұрын
@@therealitiesoflife01 I'm not sure that's what she was doing. I think she was comparing the similarity of social importance both regions have.
@therealitiesoflife01Ай бұрын
@@Emma4dfuture social importance. What is social importance? Do you know what you comparing? Was she on the show to discuss social importance or real-estate? Bro, please stop it. Use some commonsense. You can NEVER, and I mean NEVER compare the two cities in any shape or form. She should be comparing Accra to Lagos, that's the African man way of development. The African man is not ready, they want quick and easy route (quick cash for less work)!

Appreciate over years…when you’re older and want to by your personal place in Naija for sentimental reasons….sell one of your assets here take to naija and buy .
