Annie and I check out, discuss, and react to For Those About to Rock (We Solute you) from AC/DC. Another killer live performance that includes cannons and huge crowds.
Follow me on Instagram if you like, lots of family pics and funny stuff. We keep it pretty light.

The thing about the canons is that the inspiration came a little earlier. I have a few books about Accadacca & during their first tour of Great Britain, the tour bus was travelling down a country road when Malcolm saw an old Howitzer Canon in a farmers paddock. He saw this & thought it would be an idea to save for later on. Observations he made were always taken into consideration for future writing of songs.

When Malcolm died and the era of ACDC finally ended, I died inside. I loved Bon so much and when he passed I thought ok, that's it. Then Brian came and did an amazing job! They tasted different at first but in a positive manner and they were still ACDC. Literally any one of the group members were kind of replacable but none of the Young brothers were. Angus was AC, Malcolm was DC. It's impossible to compare them to other artists even within the same genre. ACDC managed to create their very own league in Rock Music.

My own AC/DC cannon story. Saw them in the late 80s in Shreveport. During this song, one of the cannons malfunctioned. The mechanical part that made the sound and smoke came out of the cannon and landed beside the stage. It was behind the audience barricade, so no one was hurt. It was still attached to a thick electrical cord and still functioned. We were siting on the same side. The next time it fired, it was EXTRA loud. Since it was outside of the fake cannon, there wasn't anything to muffle the sound. It was my first time seeing them. Another person in our group had seen them several times before. She said before we went that AC/DC is always loud. After we left, she confirmed the cannon malfunction, made it twice as loud as usual. It was an experience I will never forget.

I first saw AC/DC live December 15th 1983 at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. When those cannons went off (being at an indoor venue), the whole arena shook each time. You know that feeling when you’re listening to a song cranked and you can feel the base, it was like that time ten. I wear glasses and even my glasses vibrated each time lol. The ironic thing is that despite the title it’s always the last song because of the cannons. It’s just a great way to close show. I’m one of the lucky fans out there that during their Who Made Who tour (for me and nine other guys in Toronto September 12th, 1983) met AC/DC back stage and we were all dressed like Angus and were on the speakers for the first bit of the song Who Made Who to start the concert. They’re very short (Angus is like 5’3” lol) and surprisingly (except Brian Johnston) very shy! Super guys too! I also met Steven King because he was a judge of the Angus Young look alike contest that was months before the show lol. Anyway, great review!

Went to the Monsters of Rock at Castle Donnington August 1991where AC/DC headlined. After the gig Donnington received complaints about the cannons shaking windows and frightening pets..... FROM OVER 5 MILES AWAY! My ears were ringing for days after that gig.

I remember being at castle donington in 1991 when ACDC headlined, Metallica,Black crowes, Mötley Crüe and Queensrÿche played also that summers day. ACDC had twenty one cannons on top of the stage for this. What a day!! all for £22.50.

I have been on 7 ACDC Concerts and I would visit another 7 if possible. I have seen this concert setup I think in 2009 in Cologne and I have a few blinking horns laying around here in the house. - Cool Video. I hope one day I can visit it together with my two sons.

im 34 now but i was your daughters age when my parents took me to my first ACDC concert. it was the Australian leg of the Stiff Upper Lip tour, id grown up with ACDC from a baby so it was in my blood, but that first concert, one ill never in my life forget. fun little fact before they were even a well known band, they used to play at our local pubs/bars & would practice at my dads old high school, dad used to help set up & pack up there equipment.

The rhythm guitar player Malcolm bought that guitar in the 70s for a couple a hundred bucks and played it pretty much exclusively his whole career and was worth over a hundred million dollars when he died. Not a bad investment.

I have to agree with a lot of comments. I also saw them in a small venue and the ceiling was falling down when cannons would go off...end result AC/DC was banned from playing there ever again....great memories.

I saw them on Halloween night 1989 in Lubbock Texas. At the end the cannons went off and cracked the dome of the coliseum. It was so loud.
