I love this!! I just started making resin pendants, and I have about a thousand pendants and no clue what to make with them. You've inspired me to do this, and make bake & bend molds, which also work with resin! I also use a lot of silicone molds, theyre so easy, no mold release necessary. I just use diamond glaze to make them shiny, the results are amazing!

Hi Donna, Dry Tempera can be purchased in the kids art section of any art or craft store. Typically you mix the powdered tempera with water to create paint for children but you can mix it into resin to color it as well. The molds are Castin Craft brand and I bought them on line at Blick Art Materials. For the cards I used cheap Georgia Pacific cardstock available at walmart, it says #110 but it feels thinner, more like 80#.

Awesome, I made some molds with bake and best and I was not sure if I could use resin, I'll try it now!

Hi Miriam, Dry Tempera is an art supply for children, typically schools buy it and they mix it with water to make paint. It is cheaper to buy this than liquid tempera and a container makes a lot! Look in the children's painting supply aisle at your local craft sore or try Mister Art online where it is $3.54 a pound. I got mine at a discount store for $1 a pound. It is a great product for kids and crafts!

I just love the name you came up with for those earrings!!! Cosmos- it's just to cool!!! I also dig the idea of using the Dry Tempera for coloring the resin!!! Sensational idea!!! I see you used the Castin Craft brand of molds!! I got mine from Blick too!!! I love them!!! I tried using Armour All car spray as a mold release and it worked perfectly!!! You are a true joy to watch!! You are so upbeat and fun I always look forward to your videos!!! Keep up the great work!!!

I'm sure you can. My studio is getting cold so I'm not sure how many more resin projects I'll be able to do this year but you can treat the eye shadow (loose powder preferably) just like you would using pearl-ex. If you look on youtube for resin and pearl-ex projects it will show you what to do:)

I used a 50% off coupon at ACmoore but Blick Art Materials also has it at a good price. You can use any kind of resin but I use Castin Craft Polyester resin.
@thefrugalcrafter11 жыл бұрын
You need resin (get epoxy resin if you are a beginner), molds (the one I used is from Castin' Craft) and glitter to make the charms. Then to turn them into earrings you need wire and earring findings. Be sure to pour the resin outside or in a very well ventilated area because you do not want to breath the fumes. Good luck!

Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I love the metallic look the tempera ads to the earrings it adds a little bit of sophistication to the glitter, a material that can easily look too juvenile! I've subscribed to see what other wonderful ideas and twists you have...

I popped some out, it was a little tricky. I made some more flat molds, which were annoying, but they popped out okay. Then I made some deep ones, like a sphere and a pea pod, they were too deep, had to cut them out. But flatter molds work!

OMGosh, I'm so glad you have calmed down some in your latest videos. Your intro almost made me stop watching. But I do love your perfectionism be damned attitude. It's something I appreciate and am trying to learn from you. This is actually something I might wear, only I think I'd use mostly mica powders and use a hint of glitter. I prefer my glitter on my cards and other craft projects. I need that silicone mold and the mold you used for the warm colored examples! Fun earring display idea too! TFS!

Hi Lindsay, I am a subscriber to your channel love your Sat chats! And I follow you on Instagram. I am by heart a paper crafter and I live that you have done a few cards lately. I am beginning to get into resin UV and the part A & B you mix I did invest in an industrial mask even though everything I use I try to make sure has low chemical smell due to my asthma the one I currently use I can't smell anything even when not wearing a mask ! Still I'm trying to be safe!!! but my question can you do an updated video on resin?

Hello - I'm new to Resin and molding and will be trying my 1st go round this weekend. I wanted to know when you do the glitter behind the mold do you add more resin then the glitter or do I need to put the glitter directly in my resin like the dye? I only wait 1 hour then add the backing correct?

I'm real big on re-purposing so I take the old colored nylon stockings instead of using the store bought mess and it works just as well. @donnad69525 жыл бұрын
Do you have a 1 part resin (UV) or 2 part? Either way there is no glue involved.
@donnad69525 жыл бұрын
UV resin you just put into your mold and put under a UV lamp or outside on a sunny day. 2 part resin you mix part A and art B well, do your desired project then let cure overnight.

How did you do the rectangular ones? How did you wrap it??
@thefrugalcrafter10 жыл бұрын
I used 24 gauge silver wire and wrapped it around the earring then twisted the ends together in the back, then I pulled the excess wire to the top and made a wrapped loop to attach to the earwires.
