For the average viewer, maybe not so much and perhaps that is what production is counting on. Maybe it sounds a little "off", but that might be all the average viewer thinks about it. Kudos for bringing this out and making it known.

I think it's important to say it again, Nelly's first language isn't English, so maybe she couldn't find the words to say what she wanted to express at the moment, because of the pressure and anxiety some words might have been forgotten by her. Maybe she was trying to say that it was just a feeling from the group and said "everybody". I think we don't give the credit enough for how the language barrier can affect us in a discussion. I'm saying it because I've felt it a lot when it was the case for me.

Most of these girls are not talking in their first language. In the heat of the moment, they will use some words incorrectly. I know that feeling & have done it myself. We need to give some space & grace for choosing to compete on this stage having to convey their feelings in English when it’s not their first language. It takes some courage!!

I felt soooo bad for Nehellenia. Honestly she’s such a sweet person & because she isn’t as “loud” as the other girls or as big of a personality - some of them are underestimating or overlooking her. I honestly lost respect for a few queens, including Kween Kong who I love, when she said she was a “cunt” & the other queens who just walked off during the conversation. A lot of girls on Drag Race have said much much worse things and ppl still stayed in the room to listen. It shows that there are indeed certain ppl that don’t respect her. It’s a shame. I do wish Nehellenia at a certain point just would have said the names though, but she didn’t say everybody, she said some.

Litterally, the only time a non-English verse has won is Valentina on AS4, where half was in English and she was pushed to win because the lipync song was Ariana Grande. Not to say she didn't do well, but considering they also used the runway where she had her best outfit (in my opinion, the fabric in her dress was gorgeous) and had Monet's one flop lipsync, it is telling.

When I rewatched the episode, I made sure to watch close to see how kitty “out performed” Nellie. Kitty was slightly behind the ENTIRE time. She also didn’t have full extension of her limbs like Nellie did. The favoritism is so fucking stupid. This was supposed to be a celebration of drag around the world. And it’s just ignoring the contestants who weren’t on English speaking seasons. It makes me sad.

I kinda almost felt that Alyssa was sort of rhyming off who others said was in the bottom but in rewatching the scene, she did actually say ‘I could see Miranda, Pythia and Nelle in the bottom’ rather than so it could be… like she was summarizing what the others said. I dunno. It was Soa who was really the one who showed her azz. And since Nelle still has t mentioned who she feels is underestimating her, we don’t know who she actually thinks it is, or if there are several queens she gets that vibe from. She did, repeatedly, say ‘everyone’ seemed surprised but she couldn’t have meant the ones on the stage with her because they had heard the critiques. I think that’s why Vanity got upset but I think that’s a case of Nelle not being able to explain herself well in English. Also didn’t appreciate Kween calling her a c__. I thought that was a little unnecessary. I hope someone goes over to Nelle and tries to listen to her in a more motherly way. That person won’t be Soa, Kween or Kitty, clearly. I could actually see it be Pythia, Eva or Alyssa… maybe Vanity if she calms down.

I’m Brazilian born & raised and have lived in the USA for about 10 years. I thought Miranda’s elimination was understandable but mostly because everything she did was getting lost in translation. I understand what Miranda was going for in her runway tonight. In fact, I thought her dress tonight was maybe too literal - in recent years, Brazilian evangelical politicians have been pushing hard for traditional gender roles like “boys wear blue and play football, girls wear pink and play with dolls”. So her blue/pink/nb outfit was a reference in protest of traditional gender norms. Unfortunately this reference, as simple as it was, seemed to be lost on the judges, with Michelle saying she didn’t understand the concept, and the new Santino guy confused about the doll on her outfit (yes, it’s a doll, duh! - what weird interaction from the judges side). I wish they would ask more questions about the concept instead of just saying “I don’t understand it”. On the other hand, I think Miranda’s drag and references are too regional which is why she was a top contender in her original season. Sadly, regional references don’t work on this international season with primarily American judges, unless if the queens play up the stereotypes of their culture (they have to “dumb it down” for the judges). Bottomline, Miranda’s participation was still a net positive since it’s such a huge platform for her. She represented Brazilian culture well, even the bits that didn’t resonate with the rest of the audience.

Plus the dresses were shockingly simple and, to be honest… quite ugly. I’m disappointed at her performance, good for her she got the platform, but I’m sure she could have brought a lot more excellence than she managed to.

Mas ela vai lá e cola uma boneca num vestido feio, sem um brilho, sem nada. Deve ter rolado algum problema e ela teve que improvisar de última hora, não tem explicação.

Thank you for pointing out the fact that it seemed like they were trying to send Miranda home by putting her against Vanity, who didn't even deserve to be there. To me, the unfairness is not only with queens who don't originally speak English, but those with more pronounced accents. In my opinion, Gala was ROBBED this episode, both her and Miranda are Latina and have thick accents, and they literally never got their flowers.

What I don't understand is why the show forces queens with health limitations to perform in ways that are unhealthy for them. Feels very Corporate USA and insane to me. I wish they would let the queens perform in whatever way is within their bodily abilities and judge them based on their own body's standard, not this universal performance standard. It is a competition, where you're supposed to be the best of the best. Queens with progressive disabilities (and just any of us with such issues in general) issues know what theyre signing up for but sometimes your dreams are worth those "extra ouch days." Soon enough, those days will be a lot more and a lot longer too. As Evie got to kind of say on All Stars, she did it like a last big hurrah! Im sure thats why Miranda wasnt super sad about leaving either. More than likely in A LOT of pain but got to go on an international drag show for 4 weeks still! I know Ive done things I love, that I shouldnt and "pay for it" later but it was still worth it. Lastly, Id hope RPDR fans would also support their local queens, at least here and there, where everyone can perform at their own levels and its just fun instead of a big money winning and name recognition competition too.

They're pushing themselves because they want to stay in the competition. It's not inspirational, it's really neglectful on the show's part. @@Whatupdoq there's Paralympics which is literally for disabled athletes, there isn't a Paralympics version of drag race. I don't understand the comparison you're making because physically disabled athletes don't get to compete in the Olympics because of the fact it wouldn't be fair? Drag Race does take in disabled queens (to a degree) so they HAVE to be more accommodating! Disabled queens "sign up for it" because they want to get on TV and show off their drag. It's not like the show is upholding a standard, it's literally just ableism. We don't make shit accessible for disabled people and we expect them to figure out how to work around it themselves which is just more labour and higher health risks for them. Willow Pill also experienced ableism and neglect from production, her winning doesn't mean all disabled people should just bite their tongue and figure it out like she did.

Yes! Miranda may not be rich or highly polished but she is an artist and a sweet soul and I really enjoy seeing different perspectives and points of view. There are many queens with physical limitations and they are as valid and valued and other queens.

FUN FACT✨ It has been said that there are some scenes from previous episodes which have not been shown where some other queens said Nehellenia should have been in the bottom for both the talent and the ball... I was so frustrated watching the untucked fight because it was clear to me Nehellenia was struggling with her English and wasn't able to express what she was feeling and clap back at the queens that were pretty much gaslighting - and interrupting - her! This is the last episode I'll watch for this season, as a non-native English speaker it's honestly getting triggering and hard to watch, especially seeing as the English-based season queens are obviously getting favoured by production.

Yeah, it honestly feels like this whole global allstars platform is a way to establish the dominance of Ru-led franchises as the US/UK & Down Unda queens really do seem to be favoured. And while Michelle will be hosting season 4 of down unda, obviously Ru hosted the previous seasons… It just sucks that it feels like queens from other franchises need to work 5 times as hard to get half as far. At least on UK vs TW it felt like La Grande Dame and Marina were able to get the judges’ attention (deservedly so) but there too we saw Tia Kofi & Hannah Conda get so much favouritism for being past Ru-judged girls (and don’t get me wrong, I love them both and I’m happy Tia won but I do think Marina deserved that crown). Like it’s just Ru affirming Ru in these cross-franchise competitions at this point. As a viewer, I actually want to enjoy international talent rather than a narrative of certain markets’ dominance… Kinda reeks of a RuPaul industrial complex drag imperialism for import/export. I do love RuPaul, I just think they need to be more mindful of how they treat and showcase queens competing in their second or third languages who often have fractions of the budgets of queens like Alyssa. While AllStars 9 was pretty dull I did appreciate how giving a budget/funding runway packages for all querns levelled the playing field and upped the quality of the looks all-round (well, except for Nina, LOL, bless!) I feel like you’d need to do that for Global Allstars too, otherwise it’s hard to tell if a queen like Miranda is lacking polish or just literally lacking funds…

When you’re in a heated moment like that, trying to coherently string together your words is difficult in your native language. It was obvious that Pythia is terrible at lip syncing, so they put Vanity in there to send Miranda home, just following a trend of having Miranda with a low placement last week and her not being in the top 2 for the talent show. That's what Brazil gets for loving the franchise so much and wanting a season for so long: our queen in the "Drag Olympics" being treated like trash.

The mixing and recording on the songs this episode were BADDDDD. The vocals were so loud they completely drowned out the background music, the vocals sounded echo-y and there was autotune on some of the vocals but they didn't seem to actually have gone in to do some manual pitch correction because the vocals were tuned to notes, just not the right ones 💀 Also wtf is with these verses being like 3 seconds long? Bring back long verses, ESPECIALLY on a season that should by all means be a huge deal. It might have had something to do with the very short episodes, which is a whole other problem entirely.

Our shared confusion over this episode is quite healing.🤣 My take? As unsolicited as it is, I called Kitty’s win from the preview of last week. Why? After watching so much Drag Race you get a sense of what will be redemption storylines early! I think the gas lighting in untucked was wild because the cut right before they walked in was them agreeing she was a bottom. Like did yall hear her lyrics? Did we watch the same performance? And why is Kitty getting away with the BASIC runways? I’m literally looking at her runways saying, looks like something I made when I started fashion design. I don’t get why it feels like there is so much contrast to what we see and what happens in the episode. It is not likely to improve either.

I also would have accepted Alyssa lipsyncing because she was worst in her group and her runway was rough. Miranda didn't do bad. Miranda is like Jimbo on Canada's Drag Race. Very high concept with poor execution. Might be a lack of money, but once those dollars start rolling in and Miranda is able to execute those concepts, she will be a force to be reckoned with. Nonetheless, she already is so amazing. The cooncepts of these runways win it for me, and prefer over a very well constructed glam look with no message or new fashionable ideas. Hopefully, she is given another chance like Jimbo and is invited to an American all-stars season ❤

Racism isn't the right term. He's shown ethnic prejudice against Latine contestants for some time, but that's not about race; it's about culture and language. As for the name thing, he's done the same thing to Queens in the American franchises. Heck, he called Heidi in Closet anything but that all season. :Willow Pill had to put up with "Wittle Pill." Kennedy Davenport heard, "Newark, LaGuardia, Kennedy" every time he critiqued her runways, while Utica got the names of towns in upstate New York. If Ru finds a queen's name amusing, he messes with it all season. Is it disrespectful? Sometimes. Sometimes it's just the "shade" thing of drag. However, there's also no question that RuPaul shows favoritism, and on Global All-stars what you are seeing is his cultural and language biases. Ru sees drag through an American Pop Cultural lens, so if you can dance like Beyonce, or old school Brittany, and use American references in you're drag, you're in. This is why a true Global All-Stars shouldn't be judged by him alone - but it's his show and his franchise. At least the queens are getting seen by a wider audience.

Has there always been a level of riggory in Drag Race? Absolutely. It's reality TV and not an actual contest/pageant/what have you. But there was always at least a production value that gave the impression of merit based placements even if it was not always the case...until recently, it's like production is challenging us by saying "yes it's rigged, what are you going to do about it?" It's disappointing. Nothing but love to the queens, they should be just as disappointed with how they are being portrayed as we are with the portrayal.

So first thing first Alyssas group was the worst, if it was judged like usually girl group challenges are judged that would be the bottom group with Miranda and probably Tessa being in the bottom. Second nobody will make me believe Vanity was second worst of the night and if her runway was reason enough to put her in the bottom (again, if this was judged as groups as it should, she would be on a winning group), while Kittys terrible runway still made it possible for her to win a challenge. This season is making really little sense, which is honestly pissing me off so much. Non native english speakers are getting so overlooked its painful to watch. These icons deserve better. Whoevers producing this season is doing really shitty job. Which paired with laughable episode's length make it such a disappointment. I was waiting for this season with excitement 😢

agree with your final thoughts and 1: yes it's 'just a TV show' and 2: love to all the competing queens - but - when Vanity was critiqued for too many mid level looks with clunky reveals I just had to laugh out loud given Kitty, who won, was sooo clearly generously edited during her equally mid outfit changes on the runway... "We all know 'RuVeal' in French means take the shit off" I also don't even KNOW what production was trying to make me feel with that Nehellenia edit. Also not a single clip of a queen highlighting in the moment NOR in a confessional that she may not be perfectly crafting each and every word during an emotional and pressured conversation in English given she's Italian? If I had to defend myself in anything but my first language the way I'd be like "😐😐😐" props to Nehellenia for being able to stay as composed as she did.
