@@orichalchem It could be 10 times as much. The H1N1 case count were 10 times higher than the original estimate by CDC(US). It was only last year they corrected the number, 9 years later. The reason is they only count confirmed cases. Lots of cases went unreported. Wuhan is also short on test kit. So I don't doubt the number is higher but I doubt it is intentional. What is the motivation? Downplay the disease? You already lock down a city and built two hospitals. If it is not serious why would you do that. Have faith my friend. THe real number will be in in 10 years. The number is really for academic study any way and served no other purpose.

Lain It means that the infection rate has decreased. It doesn't give us specific regions, it's just overall. Perhaps in Wuhan the infection rate is still increasing but they're deceasing in other provinces where they aren't overwhelmed. The only place they are/were lacking test kits is/was Wuhan, not the rest of China. Wuhan and Hubei province are overwhelmed which is contributing to the higher death rate.

I doubt that China would intentionally release this virus on its own people and cause their economy to go into free fall. That said, it is highly suspicious to me, that the overwhelming number of infections are occurring in Wuhan. The so-called epicenter of the spread of this virus has been traced (supposedly) to a local "wet market", with apparent connections to bats. I'm now wondering if it is possible that the Chinese bio weapons lab in Wuhan (located just 12 miles from that market) were possibly a bit sloppy with their wastewater treatment and that bats might have ingested this waste, becoming carriers of the virus.
