Xavier Rodriguez well yes they gave it Infiniti’s TT V6, a nice upgrade. But under the new panels is still the same FR platform from 2001. I’m sure they’ve made changes, but even some of the interior is carried over from the 370Z.

Just accept the colab between Toyota and BMW for what it is. If Toyota would have gone solo with the Supra, it wouldn't have been built in the first place. Or it would have been built and promptly eliminated for lack of sales and return on investment. A proprietary engine for one model in your lineup that is a very low seller for the brand, just makes no sense. Colabs with other brands MAKE sense. Get over it. Not to mention the B58 engine is fantastic and reliable and a tuner's dream.

RKDriver this is better than the early reveal motortrend had which the front grill was massive and made the front look like a Miata but I’m still not sure I like it as much as my 370z. The front now look better yet still less aggressive than the 370z and the rear I’m really not sure about, almost looks too much like everything else but really makes me think mustang with the center being a big black rectangle (even the the light are horizontal). Not a bad lookin car and I’ll reserve my final thought until it’s finalized and I see it in person but I still think the 370z with it’s really wide fenders, wide stance, and short wheelbase make it look the more serious business sports cars, one of the few that really doesn’t ever need a wide body kit or extra aero to make it look meaner. I am liking that low roofline though, that looks sleek

Overall the car is beautiful, but with all the angles, the square grill does stand out and doesn’t look well on the car, but at the same time, keeping the manual and the more modern interior, people won’t mind and this car will sell like hot cakes!! I strongly disagree, Roman on the GT-R being an Infiniti. The Skyline name that was associated with the GT-R trim level, went with Infiniti instead, while the GT-R remained with Nissan. Yeah, it was weird when the Skyline and GT-R was split in the R35, but the whole idea of the Skyline was to be a compact sports luxury vehicle. Nissan knew the GT-R badge was met with critical acclaim to the masses, which is why they made it as its own nameplate, and make the GT-R available worldwide as a Nissan. Nissan had a couple of concept vehicles under the Infiniti name that were supercar worthy, which I'm sure you know about, but "for reasons" they never came to be, and they would have been perfect to go after the Acura NSX and Lexus LFA when it comes to luxury brand name competitions and stuff. Anyway, with all that said, I really love this new Z Proto. Of course it's a prototype, and I'm sure they will tweak that front grille when it comes closer to production, but other than that, the Z is really nice, clean, and crisp. Very simple design, and it's very sleek. I hope it's reasonably priced for what it is when we see the final production model in a couple years.

The grill is more or less a throwback to the 240- 280Z 's grills. I think it worked well on those because of the sunken headlights, giving the front fascia some nice depth, but it really doesn't look that great here. Maybe if they rounded off the edges, it would help a bit 🤷‍♂️

I think this is the one few cars I can call "modern" They nailed it on the design. EXCEPT the front square grill looks absolutely STUPID from certain angles.

New change unlisted_viewer totally agree that grill is horrible. Looks like the designers ran out of ideas or just got tired and quit! Nissan needs to design a NEW GRILL ASAP. Otherwise this car is great and I would buy one assuming it drives and handles like a sports car should. Nissan should benchmark the Porsche Cayman for some styling tips and driving dynamics!

The first thing to know about this car is that it isn't all new. This is a 370z in drag. That doesn't mean it will be a bad car. It just isn't a "new car," in the sense that the 2015 Mustang was. As a former 370z owner, it was immediately apparent to me that this car started life as a 370z. The greenhouse is exactly the same. It looks like they're using the 370z a-pillars, windshield, and windows. The slope angle of the roof is exactly the same. Many of the interior parts are carried over from the 370z.

That new Z is awesome looking, and stayed with the design of the 240Z from the lights, roofline, rear quarter and deck lid. Can't wait to see the engine, widebody kit and after market staggered 21" wheels.

Styling is generally quite good - a much cleaner look than the Supra. I do hope they take a hard look at the grill and the front end. That still looks pretty rough and don't think that big black space looks good with the yellow.

Ok just to clarify the discussion you had about the naming schemes of the Nissan Z vehicles. The names are 𝐀𝐋𝐋 named after engine displacement/engine code. 𝟐𝟒0Z (𝟐.𝟒L Inline 6 : L𝟐𝟒) 𝟑𝟎 0ZX (𝟑.𝟎L V6/𝟑.𝟎L V6TT : VG𝟑𝟎DE/VG𝟑𝟎DETT) 𝟑𝟓0Z (𝟑.𝟓L V6 : VQ𝟑𝟓DE/VG𝟑𝟓HR) 𝟑𝟕0Z (𝟑.𝟕L V6 : VQ𝟑𝟕VHR) Naming the new Z a 400Z would not make sense unless it's a 4.0L engine. If the engine is from the Q60 RedLine which would make sense as it is a great engine and a Twin Turbo V6 - then maybe the 400Z makes sense because of the 400HP the car makes, but it still doesn't follow the same patterns. Displacement/Engine Code would be the best way to do it and stay true to its heritage. If it does, in fact, share the same engine as the Q60 RedLine, then we could see a "300Z" or something along those lines which I would not rule out as Nissan did make the rear of the car extremely 300ZX like, just without all-wheel drive which is what the "x" in the name represents. All in all, great video but hopefully I help with the clarification of the naming scheme.

I think Nissan should keep the GTR a Nissan, it's too much of an icon to rebrand. But, I believe the 400z would be a better fit in the Infinity lineup as a halo car. I can see it having an Aston Martin Vantage vibe as a small, luxury, high performance coupe.

For those who are not amused by the looks of it, just remember it still in proto form, so finger crossed there is a chance that nissan will still alter it a bit if the public impression was not good (remember the GTR proto back in the '07? In the end, the final form was quite different and do looks better)
