I really enjoyed hearing more about the mother and her baby. I started watching a month before the mother passed away.

Thank you so much for these podcasts. The sanctuary is not only a place that allows healing for elephants, but also us humans. By the way, I loved that little joke on Scott. What a guy!

Hmmm, very interesting, and to be reminded about elephant behaviour in captivity being so different, disturbed and unnatural - it’s what we see all the time following individual cases of elephants in zoos and their behaviours controlled by people (keepers) and environment. Thank you for spending time talking about it and why you have to know “their normal”.

Thank you for this interesting, thought-provoking podcast. Scott and Kat, may I ask; when you saw from Pocha's face online from Mendoza that something was amiss, did this continue when she arrived at Sanctuary? I'm just thinking that she was ill but of course you could not possibly know that. I still feel she held on as long as she could to see her daughter was safe and in a Wonderful place before she could finally let go. I'm also curious as to why she held back and wouldn't join in the fun times? We'll never know because this Lovely mother passed before you had the opportunity to look into this further. I am grateful that Pocha had time to experience your wonderful Sanctuary. Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY!! Looking back at that horrific concrete prison, is there any wonder Guille showed her frustrations. I'm sorry her mother suffered as a result but it had to be released. Scott and Kat, you have so much knowledge and experience and I'm so grateful to be able to hear you share some of this with us. Thank you. Nadia, Thank you for presenting these wonderful Podcasts. Thank you to Mateus and all the Caregivers. I wish you all a Joyful Festive Season. Take care. Love to Maia, Rana, Mara, Bambi and Guille! 💖🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘💖🐘🐘💖 So looking forward to Kenya and Pupy's arrival!! 🎅🎄🎁✨🙏🙏

Things were different at sanctuary, because everything was new and exciting. She had the natural world and other elephants to interact with, and other elephants could socialize with Guille. It was probably a lot easier for her to express discomfort when she was in a more sterile and enclosed environment.
