Glad you're good. Seen this happen once before but with a PFC kit. Brand new ring, bedded properly and simply decided to disintegrate in a similar fashion to yours during the first session. PFC never did confirm why it failed however it does seem like it was a problem with the casting for a batch of rings.

It sucks that this happened but as you mentioned the most important thing is you're alright! Pretty scary knowing that the rotor could've been flying around inside the cabin with you... Hopefully you guys are back up and running soon, I can't wait to see the times you put down with this setup!!

How old were the rotors? Did you ever exchange the ring for a new one? You sure there weren't any cracks in rotors prior to event? Maybe there was a major crack that was missed on pre-inspection if these rotors have many track days.

No track days on these rotors. No cracks in the recovered pieces either. Stoptech is Investigating and I will update as I know more!

i'm going str60/43 because your not the only one to have issues with this kit. maybe the rotors are too thin, idk.

I have 100's of track days on a c43 kit. No issues. This is definitely a freak accident.
