I respect the guy to be honest and a lot of other wealthy people could learn a lot from him in my opinion. Richard Branson is one of the few successful business entrepreneurs that hasn't forgotten his roots and earns my respect.
@spontaneousfeet523810 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I think it's no myth that many entrepreneurs and businessmen/women are psychopaths. The thing that sets Richard Branson apart from a lot of these billionaires is the fact he has a lot of genuine empathy and love for the world. He's a hippy. That said, he could do a lot more. He spoke of how he and other powerful people on the rich list persuaded the Ugandan government to drop their anti-gay law and so they did. Maybe he could use that influence to wipe out world poverty.
@richymoses10 жыл бұрын
Spontaneous Feet Stereoptyping billionaires and successful individuals into the category of 'psychopath' is wrong. Also, I don't think Richard Branson alone can just flip a switch and make global poverty go away.
@spontaneousfeet523810 жыл бұрын
Stuart Farmer I never said him alone, did I? He mentioned himself the influence that big business leaders have in the political world. Also never said that just because someone is a billionaire it automatically means they're a psychopath, it just so happens that many billionaires are.
@Whoami69110 жыл бұрын
Spontaneous Feet He does all he can, he drops insane amounts of money into charities designed to help the worst hit areas, he raises awareness and such, but at the end of the day he also has a business empire to run, if that fails then those funds to those charities stop. I think he is doing everything he can to help the poorest in the world, I don't mean you and I, I mean those starving in Africa. But even the richest 1% couldn't end all the worlds problems if they put their minds to it. There is just too much there, ut as Richard was saying, he is not alone, there are others like him taking on some of that responsibility. It is incredibly refreshing to see a man of "the 1%" using that wealth and influence to tackle some of the global issues that plague the less fortunate. What a fantastic man.
@ImprovingAbility9 жыл бұрын
Whoami691 at the end of the day charities pay mindboggingly high manager salaries, and the so called "philanthropy" is just another word for investing. The richest 1% COULD end all the worlds problems, by tomorrow, but who the f*** is interested in veganism, network basic income, etc. ?

To be honest with the title of this video. He plays hard against what is normally will be hard to do if you think as a powerfull man you are the only VIP in the world and don't care about other people and/or environment. He doesn't want to play that hard, because he is a real HUMAN but he have to deal with some ego people around that think that it is all about themselfs. That's what it made so difficult, stupid egoism people that don't think they need others because of their (short-time bulky) profits at any costs. That's why I like Richard Brandson, he is somebody like Ricardo Semler, want to do business but not do business because of profits alone at any costs. Wants to TRY something to improve a situation. He knows, like Semler, sharing the appriciation, luck, creativity 'madness', enjoy, will keep things alive, it is a long term solution for ALL (also when the chairman dies). It is a simple thing but made difficult by egoism, a sniff of power. As a real human, you don't want to be old and die in lonelyness because you was not able to share. When you want to share, you get the real profits out of it, humanity, joy and care in both directions.

Capitalism is great in theory. If it works. 1) Most rich people (not Richard) see philanthropy as a way of avoiding tax, which actually defeats the point of capitalism. 2) Not all countries have capitalism. 3) Many countries including capitalist countries have corruption (called lobbying in capitalist countries) which also messes with the system. 4) The most efficient way to get rich in a capitalist country is to exploit the those who are not rich, and most super wealthy people have done this. 5) If you have a system that works really well for 85 people and the rest have to live of their charitable acts, this does not sound like a good system.

i really don't understand why society puts the burden on the wealthy. Sure if you are wealthy + connections you can help the world. But it shouldn't be the responsibility of the wealthy but for each and all individuals. One works hard and makes a fortune while another one sits its but on the couch and use up government help to survive instead of using their skills to be creative and successful people. We each should take responsibility for our lives and not blame those who have made their dreams come true.

0. make money from someother entreprenuer journey like shopify dropshipping or retail abritrage so you have money to invest into your idea because no one else is going to if you havent put your own money into it and you wont either if you dont truly 100% with all your heart and gut know it will help people 1. have a great idea that will help people and bring value but flexible because it will change somewhat. 2. if you really came up with a great idea that you actually with all your heart believes that it will bring value then it wont be hard to bring great people together to help bring that to life 3. just have to go for it because you will never ever wake up one day and say im 100% ready 4. get capital from angel investors or other investors 5. work your ass off and love 95% of all of it because its something you are really passionate about.
