I flew from the Uk on virgin some 15 years ago, and as we boarded the plane, Richard Branson was welcoming people in. We were the last to board so he asked us to join him in first class. We chatted all the way and he had his notebook with him and scribbled away. It was a pleasure to meet him, a real gent. I'll never forget it and have followed him ever since. As a fellow dyslexic, he is truly inspiring to me.

At the risk of sounding overly sensitive, it’s dangerous to refer to depression as “you just feel a bit sorry for yourself for a day or two, and then you just have to snap out of it”. Jimmy Carr’s differentiation of sadness vs depression, I felt, was spot on. This take, to me, felt uneducated and dismissive of a truly debilitating chronic illness rooted in chemistry and electricity. Having listened to the entire interview, I have a huge amount of respect for Richard Branson as a business person. In the same breath, I would respectfully suggest educating yourself on subjects you’re not well versed in.

Leave him out of it and get whatever country you’re from in Africa to make that change. Better still do the change yourself. Change in Africa isn’t Richard Branson’s duty. Such dumb comment.

I worked in a 5⭐ hotel in Ireland a few years ago, and printed in the handbook was a quote which read; "Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to". I have wanted to work for Richard Branson ever since then. He sounds amazing and sounds likes a really great man to work for. As the saying goes; "look after your staff and your staff will look after your business". I do hope the hotel brand would remove this quote from their handbook, because they train people like crap and they treat them the same way. Sadly.

It's not if you have a court case. Its why so many dyslexic men are in jail currently I think. The system can write faster than some people can read. It's literally that. They could be innocent or and productive. There's a gap in the market for diagnosis and Advocates for dyslexic people who can't afford legal fees but could pay something towards the help. It's a politically charged hornets nest if anyone did it. But it's a good fight. It looks as if there this help but in reality it's not in place. I am a dyslexic and no help diagnosed late in life dyslexic people in my experience don't give up easily. But it's a double bind system where winning is for losers. Here's the to do list of what's necessary 1) Decent reading software qnd extra appointments for dyslexics. 2)Advocates qnd accounting for dyslexic people in court proceedings. 3) Training given to legal professionals so they understand their own neurodivergence and how this can colour their perception of how dyslexic people work. 4)Memory prompts and notes allowed in court if the person has memory issues. 5) intelligence tests that are dyslexia friendly 6) loan people assistive technology 7) 3xtra time given for reading court documents. 8) Extra time for legal aid representatives to go through dyslexic peoples anointing of documents. 9) Disability laws change so that everyone has a fair trial. 10) Inclusion on the ground that there is different people who learn differently and that's OK. = culture change. 11) Thanks for listening. Dyslexic people do communicate in unconventional ways. We break social norms if necessary because the apparatus wasn't designed for us. It's a different more wordy neurotype. It doesn't make us mad bad or wrong. ✌️

This was an incredible episode! As a parent with a child who is dyslexic, when listening to Mr. Branson talk about his algebra struggles, no understanding to the things that have no relevance in his eyes he checks out and goes to read, research or watch what he’s interested in and masters it all. Mr. Branson kudos to you executing your visions to reality! There was so much to take away from this interview. 👏 Lastly, when I tell my son he’s different he always tells me “I’m a different type of smart”. While in school he never realized he had additional accommodations and when I was trying to explain to him what that meant and he didn’t instead continued to ask the school to put him in harder classes and I advocated for him no matter his differences in thinking. Again, great interview Mr. Branson is an amazing businessman!

Your guest Richard Branson, Wow! a true inspiring gentle soul . I didn't have to think it out within the contradictions of one's mind when it came to listening to Richard, as aposed to others you have interviewed whom have "made it" so to speak- be it -selling and buying consciousness =knocking people out or making money selling vape and alcohol to a variety of society's people and life's consequences that factually break up family's because of addictive substances etc... I purely felt Richard is a great achiever in the best scence of the word. Although others on your show have a place to be there, I think The likes of Richard Branson is light years above. Richard gives freely a true aspirational and inspirational flow of genuine consciousness and being to people. He doesn't seem to play people on his path to success and pose himself as something he's not ... he comes across in an authentic true form of a good humanbeing . We hope and look forward to more like him on your program.

What a well structured interview. I'm so impressed by your ability to keep voice control and calmness in your questioning. My quote, 'a quiet interview'. Then to interview my absolute favourite person on this incredible planet. Two voices that compliment a very intelligent and enjoyable conversation. Thank you Mr. Richard Branson for giving this young man a chance to chat to you.

I admire Richard Branson very much. Ever since I bought Tubular Bells in 1973 and found out that he lived in a house boat. OK, he had rich parents (a bit like Stelios) but Boy did he use his advantage. Many people don't. Virgin is the best airline I have ever flown on. The cabin crew are the best and are always just cheeky enough, but not too much. Obviously well trained. I flew to New York on a Laker Airlines "Skytrain" DC10 in 1973. Freddie Laker mentored Richard and helped him to take on B.A. because B.A. had tried the same dirty tricks on Laker who, at the time, only had 3 or 4 planes. Freddie was the man behind Branson and was his saviour. I miss Virgin running the West Coast trains. God knows why they lost the contract to the complete sh*t show Avanti. The Virgin service from Preston to London Euston was excellent. Not so much with Avanti. Cancellations, lateness, high prices.

Thank you for being so respectful to Richard, I love the way you conveyed to him just how much we appreciate this interview and the impact it has made. I did a presentation in Management School about Richard. Such a genuine real life Hero. I found it most interesting to learn that courtesy towards others was highly valued in his childhood. No wonder he has such a dynamic personality. I didn't realise he was so attractive as well. I'm changed by this Podcast (as I often am with your content). Thank you🙏💙

I personally have used many Virgin products and services. Virgin trains was amongst my favourites as I am sure was probably the case with many rail users on the XC Cross Country services between Aberdeen and the South Coast and of course the West Coast mainline between London and Glasgow. Virgin Cola, Virgin record stores, Virgin Money, Virgin mobile. Only thing I have really noticed about Virgin Atlantic is that their list of destinations is somewhat limited. One thing that will always stick in my memory with regards Sir Richard Branson and Virgin was when the National Lottery was being setup and the American guy who's company it was who made the machines got wind of the fact he wanted to give much more of the money to charity. This American man owns 80 different lotteries around the world, but Sir Richard wanted all the money to go to charities. So, this guy asked if he could meet Sir Richard for lunch, he invited him round to his home in London and they had lunch out in the back garden and he asked Sir Richard "what can I do for you?" In otherwords, this big fat American businessman was trying to bribe Sir Richard Branson into changing his decision to give all the lottery money to charity because he was going to lose out - this guy who already owned 80 lotteries around the world was sweating and getting uptight about the fact that Sir Richard was proposing giving all this money to a more worthy cause.

Brilliant! 🤜🤛 That went so quick. My bro-in law did some business with him designing an air terminal in SA some years ago which I don't think ever got the permission to go ahead. They were trying to fit in time for the meeting. Richard suggested a breakfast meeting...At my bro-in-laws house in North Yorkshire. Huge respect to him. I worked for Virgin Media for many years so thanks for putting the bread on my breakfast table Sir Richard Branson.👏👏
