Absolutely beautiful! However, I‘d argue that the Route in reverse is even more stunning: Col de Soller from the South is amazing, with all those hairpins. Then, you get to climb the biggest climb on Mallorca, the Puig Major (Tùnel de Monnabar). Sa Calobra is the same, which ever way you go about it, but coming up to Cap Formentor is one of the most stunning things, and a perfect way to end a ride.

@9090Glenn3 жыл бұрын
if Mallorca sounds intriguing - this video does NOT do it justice - it is even BETTER than shown - Mallorca is certainly a cycling Mecca - seems every time Hank said - " just LOOK at that view over there! " and pointed left or right - the camera seemed to QUICKLY focus on the bike wheels ? - not sure why they started at Cap de Formentor when you usually cycle to that location from Port de Pollenca and then come out as it too is a one-way road like Sa Colobra which is an epic climb - the roads are exceptional - traffic is usually light in the off-season but far less so in the summer - I heard they are usually PACKED then and definitely to be avoided - the scenery is simply STUNNING everywhere you look and then you get incredible panoramic vistas of the Bays and Sea breaking out every so often - mild temperatures with low rain - highly recommended but GCN should have done it more justice - NOT TO MISS

Yakushima was nice, but you need a bell to alert the shika and the saru to move out of your way. Parts of the main coastal road were littered with small rocks and small branches, no doubt due to a gale. Those parts needed concentration and a slower speed. Otherwise around the island on this coastal route, is fairly flat with only one portion that gently rises as you reach the backside. Any road to the interior goes up and many are worth it to see waterfalls, to go on a hike,, or to enjoy a cup of hot tea. Yakushima gets a lot if rain so I probably would not recommend it for people visiting from a similar climate. Near the "town" is an onsen to help rejuvenate sore muscles. Overall it is a quiet island unless you visit during the summer when it gets tourists from mostly mainland Japan. It is very green everywhere.
