If you've ever seen a Colnago C60 in the flesh it is just lustfully gorgeous. Video and pictures don't nearly do it justice.

With all of these aero disk breaks, I'd be worried about cooling as you won't be getting the airflow around the calipers.
@ethansloss68548 жыл бұрын
It's not so much of a concern on a tt bike but it would be a problem on a road bike.
@MattDion8 жыл бұрын
Isn't the heat dissipation mostly off the disk, and not the pads? I don't know too much about them on bikes, but I thought that's why high performance auto rotors are drilled, to improve rotor cooling and reduce brake fade.
@sergarlantyrell78478 жыл бұрын
Matt Dion You'll get heat build up on both surfaces. I think the build up in the disks more directly impacts break performance. But I would be concerned about long term wear on the pads/calipers side when decending. After all, if you look at the higher end break calipers they have what seems to be cooling fins on them.

Hello, GCN! Recently I changed my Hybrid Carpe Orbea, into more of a Road Bike. I replaced the MTB Handlebar, Shift (Acera) and Brake-Levers for a Road Handlebar and Road Levers (Claris). When I got to the brakes, I found out the bike wouldn't take Caliper Brakes, so I had to stay with V-Brakes. The cable-pull wasn't enough, and when I was about to collapse out of desperation, I found a Hack named "Travel Agent" (produced by Park Tools, Problem Solvers, etc.). This succesfully completed the operation fixing the pull issue. Now I am a happy man, closer to having a Road Bike (for the city). I think this could be interesting for some of your viewers that, as I, have taken an interest on road bikes, but may have purchased something different...
@RevoltingRudi8 жыл бұрын
i did that kind off with a conway cs 580 speed. it was more of a cross bike/mtb with internal gears in the rearhub (alfine SG-50, 8gears) and v-brakes. i put on a flatbar, changed spacers to get it lower. put on aerorims and 28mm conti gp 4000. i also liked it with 35mm Kojaks. i used it heavy for comuting in the city and also raced with it the amateur cyclassics in Hamburg 2 times. (55k, 100k) it weights ~12kg. on flat stages it is almost as fast as my real semi-aero-roadbike. but on climbs... well thats another story. but even on climbs you can get up the hill. the most important thing on a bike is the engine (the driver).

KTM bicycles used to be really cheap, rebranded supplier frames for bottom basement mail-order companies. In the last couple years they've repositioned themselves to get taken more seriously. I hope they do succeed.

Those bikes with the cables and hoses routed through the bars, through the stem and then through the frame will be fun to work on. The resulting 00000.001% increase in 'speed' seems like poor return. Then again we're fast approaching the point where people will just throw their bikes away when they gears need adjusting.

@brandontw018 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't know(sorry), but I'd guess that the disc brakes are hydraulic, And are calibrated by that stem.
@wodstalker28198 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by calibrated ?
@brandontw018 жыл бұрын
I mean that it could be used to adjust the pressure of the fluid in the brakes.
@wodstalker28198 жыл бұрын
Brandon Wiker By adding air ? hydrolic brakes have to be air-free ! You basically have a reservoir where you add fluid, and then you dont change anything untill you need to bleed it...

A KZbin poster mentioned why road bikes should use disk brakes because it's not difficult to stop the sub 15 lbs bikes. Don't forget the bike is also being ridden by a 140+ lbs rider. And disk brakes far outperform rim brakes. But good thought.

Guys, please help. Im going to get a new bike and im not shure witch one of the Giant TCR composite 2 or the Lapierre Sensium 200 to get. Any suggestions?
@geryon8 жыл бұрын
Lapierre Sensium is an endurance bike and Giant TCR is a race bike so the geometries are somewhat different. Endurance bikes are slightly more upright and comfortable but you pay for it with a slightly less aerodynamic riding position. I think GCN has videos on the differences. Buy the type of bike that is most suitable for the kind of riding you want to do.

If you're having trouble viewing at 50fps, you can turn the resolution down to 480p, which will force the video into 25fps. Hardly idea, particularly in full screen, but if it's your only option... I really like video in 50/60fps though, but then again, I'm using Chrome on a PC where it's not a problem

I've been riding this bike for about a month kzbin.infoUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and a half now and I think it's fantastic. It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.
