Our LG refrigerator has been out of service for a month and a half now and after most of a dozen You will receive a call back in 2 to 3 business days that never happens. No resolution. Expect your fridge to last about three years the gentleman who said his was 15 years old obviously did not have the in-line compressor that is the source of all of these failures class action lawsuits etc. but just don’t expect any customer support because there is none.

We have LG LRMDC2306S. During first month we’ve had 4 service visits for craft ice maker not working. Each service call reveals the water feed line to the ice maker is frozen solid although the freezer temp is set at +4F. We added two thermometers into the freezer that log temp and they both show 4F so temp sensor is good. Does the craft ice maker line have a heater/defrost? Latest tech wants to switch out water feed line but by this point we have zero confidence LG know how to build a fridge.

What model is your fridge? And if it has had multiple repairs, according to lemon law you should get a new one (assuming there actually is a problem with the fridge, I'm not sure how far lemon law goes), after multiple repairs. And you're defrosting your freezer? Regardless if it keeps happening I'd say just go back to putting ice cube trays in the freezer

@@steviereay Unless you have a research with a considerable amount of data that shows a big enough failure rate of LG refrigerator compressors, you can not make the assumption that they are bad and are going to fail within 2-3 years. Even then you have to factor in all other manufacturer's data and compare the results. My best guess is that you were just unlucky. Of course if it is under warranty and they refuse to fix it, then we can say they have a bad customer service. Is that LG themselves or a reseller refusing to send it to LG?

It's a shame that we can't get these fridges in Europe. In USA & Canada, the freezers have drawers and above it's french doors. In Europe, with french door models, we only get doors below for the freezer as well. Inside are six small compartments. The big sliding drawers shown in this video are so much more clever and space-saving. I don't know why these models arent produced here more often.

I do some search and discover that, fridge sold in Europe are expensive like crazy. In East Asia countries, with 150$, we could have a small 2door babe fridge and excellent energy save. LG fridge is good, but not the best. There some models comes from Hitachi, Mitsubishi... which used for JP market only are very very good.

I have the same criticism Nea. The LG fridge with drawers on bottom and doors on top aren't sold in Europe. I checked so many shops, both online and offline, and I can't find any place to get them. Not even the official LG website sells them to Germany for example. They just aren't in the list. I don't know. Maybe we could import that specific model directly from South Korea, but that's so crazy; Transport would be expensive as hell for that weight (probably 500-1000€ just for that), then you'd hope nothing breaks or is damaged while it's being transported, and then you hope that all the electrical systems match to your country (cables, sockets, voltage, etc. You should NEVER use adapters for fridges). I'm only interested in this particular setup: french doors on top, and drawers on the bottom. I can't find this combination anywhere to buy though. The top part most people use daily, so it has to be a two door solution with a lot of room. However, the Side-By-Side models that LG offers and that are so widely available are all useless in that regard, because "Side-By-Side" means they have the entire left side of the fridge as a freezer, and the right side of the fridge is regular refrigerator - both sides from top to bottom. When you think about it, for daily use of the Side-By-Side models you would most of the time open the right door only, but would need to crouch down to access the lower compartments every time - grabbing veggies, fruits or whatever. That is just bad design in my opinion (very inconvenient for what your body needs to do), and a waste of space too. You'd be going in your knees multiple times a day, every day. So ultimately the big down side of Side-By-Side fridges is that at eye-level you only have a narrow space for both fridge and freezer. You always have to crouch. The fridge compartment should be top side only, with two doors, and a lot of space. Nothing else. Also, just like you pointed out, anything that is not a drawer for the freezer section ends up being very small and separated. The Side-By-Side freezer section is too narrow, and the regular two-door-freezers on the bottom that some LG models have also are separated into 6 small compartments with walls and end up being narrow. It's just bad design again. My 20-year-old noname refridgerator is already narrow on top and bottom, so if I'm buying a new one, I don't want the same lack-of-space problems. ugh

Compressors are the main issues, after 2 years ten month my compressor went out i lost about $310 worth of food, they reimbursed me $300 for my food. They have time frame that is has to be repaired by and it went pass that time, they reimbursed me over $1,900.

NO light on dispenser! No Light button, no option to have it stay on. We just received ours after waiting almost 6 months for it. I ordered it in Dec. 2020 and it was delivered yesterday. We had the previous counter depth version, without craft ice, but we left it with our previous house we just sold. It was stainless and we wanted black stainless in the new house. We loved that fridge and it gave us 3+ years of trouble-free operation. There's one thing I'm very disappointed about in this new version: they took away the light in the dispenser! It only activates when you use the dispenser. I've always kept mine on for a nightlight and for the nice effect it gave to the dispenser during the day. This is supposed to be a high end fridge and it's the first one I've ever had, in 20+ years, that didn't have that feature. I'm thinking I might return it due to them silently doing away with it. Which rocket scientist at LG thought that would be a good idea to do? It cost $4,000. Maybe if there was the possibility of downloading a software patch for it. Then I could at least turn it on from my phone. I have mine connected to wifi, the app, and Alexa.

I don’t usually comment on videos, but this experience with their customer service scarred me. Never buy their fridge. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had involving customer service. My French door fridge that I bought in 2016 died due to a broken compressor. I called LG’s customer service line and was told that the compressor was covered for 10 years. I then hired a technician to order a part for the install. With the part covered, the install would’ve been $800. I called LG to see if they would cover the cost of labor. After two weeks of talking with various customer service agents, the result was that they would not be covering the cost of the fix. By this point, I was without a fridge for two weeks. Frustrated, I told the customer service agent that I was fine without the labor cost being covered. I then asked for a letter of authorization for the technician to order the new compressor. The customer service agent told me that they cannot issue a letter of authorization due to the fridge missing a serial number. For two weeks, I was very transparent with every customer service agent that I was missing the serial number. I even sent them pictures of all the stickers on the fridge. All of the customer service agents knew this fact and still told me that the compressor would be covered except this last customer service agent. I finally called the technician and told him the news and currently he is replacing the compressor that I had to pay out of pocket. I WILL NEVER buy from LG again for this reason. When the customer service agent told me that their “presidential Liason” would contact me, I simply never got a call back. One agent even told me that the letter of authorization was already sent out, however, the technician never received a letter. This was such a terrible experience for me over all.
