Not much to disagree with here. A change in government is way, way overdue. Most Canadians do not yet fully comprehend just how much damage the Trudeau "leadership" team has done. With the reemergence of Trump on the scene, strong leadership and strong Canadian identity will be critical, rather than the constant hollowing out of Canadian tradition and achievement that have characterized the "post-national" and unicorn-infested Trudeau years.

The reporter at the end yelling her question about Pierre and his team attending Trump's inauguration is already exhausting to listen to. She seems utterly desperate to conflate Pierre with Trump. Trump's rhetoric about Canada becoming the 51st state is actually a gift to Polievre as it allows him ample opportunity to demonstrate that he will not be a Canadian mini Trump or Trump's lapdog. I thought the way Pierre talked about the US to be surprisingly tough/hardline. He didn't fall into the trap of pleading or grovelling but also avoided resorting to mocking it and brushing it off. It is a serious threat from a very powerful neighbour being run by an unpredictable leader. It will be a complex relationship to navigate going forward and I thought Pierre represented the feelings of Canadians well.

The large influx of new immigrants places significant pressure on the housing and rental markets. Simultaneously, the labour market is becoming increasingly unbalanced, creating economic challenges and a potential recession in the near future. Young people who grew up here are particularly affected, as many cannot afford to leave their parents' homes, to pay rent, and eventually purchase their own houses. The number of immigrants must align with the economic capacity of provinces to sustain the housing and job markets. Currently, this balance is disrupted, leading to consequences that impact everyone.

While I am not supporting Liberal government for their wrong policies, but I have a few thoughts about this guy: 1. this guy is a populist and just like a classic politician only hits the rival without talking about the negative side of his tax policy. Many European countries have much higher tax than Canada and run well. The problem is not tax. It is mishandling the government. So an efficient gov can handle the things with relatively high tax. The point is where tax goes. Axing the tax without any plan would increase poverty, crime and have socio-economic consequences just like the US. He never talks about it. 2. Trump the other day said he wouldn't care about this opposition leader, but he keeps flattering and begging the US to buy Canadian oil. He unfortunately knows nothing about foreign policy. He believes if he flatters Trump or talks to US companies, that would cause a change in Trump's tariff plan or stop him from using humiliating words against Canada. To the contrary, it will make Trump even more emboldened to apply taxes. It is not just Liberals. Conservatives are also responsible because they were in power until 2015 and they should also answer what they did to make the Canadian economy independent from the US. Nothing!

Pierre Polievre has never actually had a real job in his life, outside of his brief time as a teenage paperboy, and short stint as a bill collector for a phone company. More than 99% of the money he has ever made has been as a conniving federal politician, paid for by Canadian taxpayers. Now, as he desperately craves his "deserved position" at the top of the heap in Ottawa, he gets on his high horse every day, spewing his little one liners and propaganda slogans, manipulating and distorting statistical information, feeding in to - and exasperating - the frustration felt by many Canadians, dividing us with knife-like precision into two categories: the "smart, righteous people" who back him, and the "stupid, wacko, bad people" who, like me, find it impossible to support the lying, manipulative bully.
@AbsentMinded61917 күн бұрын
You just described exactly how Trudeau talks about his political opponents. Except he also uses despotic tactics against his enemies, takes away their free speech, and loves to wear blackface. Imagine a regime so bad that the only thing you can say about your opposition is “They say negative things about us.”
