Bought one in December. Love it. All stock, I'm not modifying a perfectly functioning gun. No light, no nothing.

@@JTM1987 probably to make their gun look "cool". I like stock. I hike here in FL once in a while. Some friends said I should carry side arm, I have my Glock 19 gen 5 concealed for easy access. Dug it out when we thought we heard something in the woods. One of my friends was like "oh damn, you DO carry!". I was like "yeah, but emergencies only"...)

I keep my Glocks standard. Only Glock made parts. But I do add Glock made tritium night sights. I have had the sights break when dropped. So steel please.

The Glock has more safeties than just the trigger detent. Take the slide off and look under the slide you will see a button which is the fire pin block. Now in the frame there is a trigger bar drop safety and a drop channel safety.

Just done a chrony test with some Buffalo bore 115 grain +p+ 5 shot test average 1306 fps that's magnum velocity for sure G19 Gen 5

One difference that isn't mentioned is that Glock changed the trigger housing mechanism from the one spring, found in previous generations to a 3 piece trigger mechanism; which I thought would led to 3x the failure rate making the pistol inoperable. To test this I completely removed the 3 piece trigger housing mechanism and was surprised that the pistol still functioned! Amazing simple reliable design.

I got 1 for 2 years now I carry it daily no problems works well even with cheap ammo for me it's the best gun one can buy

19 gen 5 are awesome. I like the 19,19x,17 and 23. I like trading a lot. So, I'll always have one of the top options in my collection.

@@terrytolentino5459 there ya go. I have nothing but respect for glock. I will say this though. Im not a fan of the grip at all so its gonna be a backup gun when i get a m&p metal. My shield has never failed on me even when i treated it like shit years ago.

I am CZ fan boy but I have a G19 Gen5 MOS as part of my carry rotation. I hate mushy trigger but hey it works all the time

Same, I have a springfield hellcat, springfield echelon and a taurus g2c since their cheap and it was my first gun. I've never had an issue with glocks its their fan club that I can't stand. That said I've finally decided to get a 19 next time I get a pistol

Yep, gotta carry for work, not a big fan, Beretta APX is really nice and unique. That said, out the box, no oil, just to see what it would do, send 5 HP just fine, and everything else I put through it, can't complain.

Great review, but I do feel you were sparing some feelings her lol I know more law enforcement officers that carry the 19 over the 17 , I definitely think the 19 is better but not by far , but great review brother

My first FA is a smithy... Unfortunately i got a bad batch i think, sold it and replaced with a glock 19 gen 5... Eats everything up, name it, reloads, to dirt cheap ammo... A bit pricey compared to others with less options, Thats the price i think, reliability, that when i pull the trigger i can count on it to go boom, something that i could depend my life on.

Both are great guns. Love my model 26. I actually shoot better with the 26, put a x-grip on it and you have a 16 round gun. I own both!

I bought my Glock 19, gen 5, 4 days ago and very disappointed the magazine holds 12 and not 15. Why does yours have 15?

As far as I know, 15 rounds is the standard capacity for the Glock 19 Gen5. I wouldn't know.

Nice Review. The G19s sold to the police forces in Brazil has safety locks. The local manufacturers (Taurus and Imbel) made lobby to demand that item just to let Glock out of the competition but Glock managed a solution and won the contract. Dumbest move ever. I believe they used the switch lock to act as a safety lock Glock with locks for dumb c0ps.
