@AN_APPEAL_2_HEAVEN8 ай бұрын
Idk if this is the answer you're looking for exactly but when you port your handgun you do lose velocity. And the velocity loss changes depending on the location of your ports and how many you have...but it shouldn't affect too much assuming you're using your handgun like you're suppose to and not like it's a rifle.
@kevinrichardson88598 ай бұрын
Any ports or gaps in the barrel of the same length will REDUCE velocity...less velocity means less energy so YES a ported gun delivers less energy and impact to target...how much is the question

The recoil of the ported Glocks is a "push" to the rear and muzzle flip is very minimal compared to the non-ported Glocks.
@rmyrvold8 ай бұрын
I'm curious how much bullet velocity you lose due to the porting. Those ports look big and are elongated, which would give you the effect of a shorter barrel. I would like to see a comparison between the standard 19 and the 19c with a chronograph.
@TheGlockMiester8 ай бұрын
It's not much almost negligible. Biggest thing really is the front sight gets caked and honestly it's 9mm so why even bother with a comp 😂
@riflesupply8 ай бұрын
This is something we thought about and we might do a video showing that
@phil20828 ай бұрын
There is no real difference. Any barely measurable difference will be less than the average velocity distance between rounds coming out anyway. 9mm, this goes double. Now, a short 10mm? That's another story. This is a round that basically gets no velocity gain from the 19 to the 17L.
@tonysopranooo17 ай бұрын
@@TheGlockMiester dude u can just wipe off the sight after ur done shooting lmao.. it doesn't get "caked" until you've put 200-300 rounds in a row thru it .. yall complain about the smallest sht

It’s not just the reduction in muzzle rise but also a reduction in reliability. You have to run NATO or +p or better to maintain reliable function.

@@evanf7334 A $500 Glock is normally priced for a handgun. A $3800 Glock is not. Looking at someone who paid the same price for a compensated Glock as for a non-compensated Glock, then calling them "stupid" or "rich" - this makes you the problem.
@phil20828 ай бұрын
The muzzle flash from a compensated glock really doesnt interfere with eye sight at night. The V of flame comes out away from the sights, and it is not bright. Self defense ammo is made to be low-flash. This means that shooting crappy FMJ ammo is not an indocator of muzzle flash anyway. Likely a compensated glock with defense ammo will have much less flash than a non-compensated glock without the ports. The 17c is my favorite handgun for a reason. It works well. Going to something other than 9mm might make a difference on velocity, but not with 9mm. A ported long barrel 10mm will be so much more controllable than it was that a small velocity loss really wouldnt matter.

That's an interesting point, now we are going to have to try it with defense ammo. And the G20 vs G20C is coming soon
@phil20828 ай бұрын
@riflesupply One more point: Weapons retention. The range I used to go to outside of Fort Hood, Texas used to do demonstrations showing that a handgun, when grabbed, would easily jam with an empty case in the chamber. Also, the owner as well as his instructor had never seen a compensated Glock before someone showed up with a 23c, apparently? Two hospitalizations in 30 seconds because they thought it was the clip draw. Large amounts of flesh removed from the hand, about a cubic inch. If someone grabs a compensated Glock, it will still jam, but they won't be able to hold on to it. I went with a 17c after this instead of the 34 because of weapons retention, not so much because of recoil.

I pick one of these up off my internet gun supplier, he had four of them, it was California compliant and I'm from Texas so it pulled a little to the left, but it was easily adjusted with my T hammer, LOL😅....
