I'm laughing at so many points in this video cause I'm with you on all of it. I love Glocks in general, but I do agree there are a couple things that drive me nuts. I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't stand the flimsy grip sides lol. Glocks are awesome for what they are, but they're not anything mind blowing.

After owning my usp, I realized I may be regretting some older purchases(glock17&19) I have also fallen deeply in love with cz p01. I'm curious to know your opinion of the gun and cz as a manufacturer.

I actually think that the G26/27 is the only glock I like. My P2000SK still blows it out of the water, though. The only advantage of the glock is that it's a teensy tiny bit smaller.

Interesting seeing you opening up to Glock. I followed a slightly similar path. First pistol I lived was my USPc9mm. NEVER liked the grip angle, or bulky grip of a glock. But recently they have been growing on me. Bought a 20sf as a novelty/range toy for the most part. Now considering a couple 19s to use for home defense (possibly to carry), as it would likely fit my Fiancés hand better, and have more manageable recoil than the 45s I currently use.

I love the older models that are a bit harder to find nowadays like the RTF2 models. I currently own a G22C, G19C, G19.5 Grey Frame MOS, and a G45 with the OEM threaded barrel non MOS. Just saw that they released the 19X MOS with a threaded barrel which is going to be my next Glock purchase. I love Glock and will always have them in my rotation but I certainly agree that there is more value with equal reliability out there. The VP9SK or the P30SK are exactly what I want in regards to a conceal carry piece with a grip that is more forgiving. When it comes to polymer striker fired pistols i'm pretty well set on Glock with some minor changes but nothing crazy like the triggers or barrels. I also enjoy Walthers, HKs, and CZ's offerings. Nowadays its kind of hard to fuck up a striker fired polymer framed pistol in 9mm but to be fair some do it better than others.

Hey Bro, I have Glocks and HK handguns. I like what both have to offer. I'm very proficient with both as well. One that you didn't mention that I have is the Glock 36. It's super thin for a conceal gun, and it's in .45 which I like too. You were talking about the 9mm ammo problem that you have for testing. I have been buying Freedom Munitions, 124gr. ball. They are selling for LAX Ammunition. They are here in Idaho, and I think they are a good price when purchased in 1000 count.

For the first eight years I concealed carried only an Smith & Wesson M&P compact. I bought a Gen3 Glock 19 in 2013, had it for a year, but I wasn't impressed as much as I hoped I would be and sold it. I went on to own a lot of other carry options from S&W, SA, Walther, FNH, etc.... One day I was in a gunshop and asked to hold a Glock 26 of Gen4 variety. I don't know why I did, I wasn't interested in Glock, but when I held it I was blown away. I think it might have been because I pretty much only carried, shot and developed muscle memory for single stacks that summer and I just loved having that extra width to fill my hand again. I bought it, and bought other Glocks again because I was more impressed this time around with the Gen4s (I know, weird). I bought a Glock 43 and sold it. My hands just ride too high on that gun. I got a nasty slide bite once. I bought another Glock 19 (Gen4 this time), and I like my Glock 26 much better. I can control the trigger in my G26 much more easily/consistently. It's my hands I'm sure, but it really does shoot as well. It doesn't really shoot better because I think the smaller size and better trigger pull is somewhat a wash. But here's the thing and perhaps the most important point I want to make. My G19 has a lighter trigger by a pound on average (measured with a Lyman digital scale). I switched out the whole trigger group between the two guns and guess what? The Glock 26 still pulled better! What I mean by better is that I can pull both triggers so that I cannot detect movement of the front sight, but eventually I'll have a bad pull or two, but it happens much less-hardly at all-with the G26 no matter which trigger system it has in it. I haven't done this yet, but I would guess if I pulled the trigger 20 times dry practicing, 15 or more pulls would be perfect for the Glock 26 and 10-15 would be good for the G19. Maybe I'll experiment. I even bought a minus connector and a Gen3 trigger bar to put in my G19 and was making sub 4 lb pulls (just over 4 lbs on average) and the G26 (which averages about 6-6.5 lbs) still had less instances of sight disruption. In fact, I noticed no change at all in the G19 no matter how much I lightened it, so I put the original parts back in and it averaged exactly 5.5 lbs the last time I averaged 10 pulls. I decided it had to be the Glock 26's hump which is a little bit higher than it is on either the G19 or G17. I decided to do some research and came across an article by Massad Ayoob, and he had many of the same observations. He was perplexed because he could shoot the G26 just as well-and sometimes better-than the others. I think he said he did better in a match. I found another guy who did some real scientific evaluating (or as close to that as you're reasonably going to find). He came to the conclusion he can shoot it just as well as a G34. My take on it is-and again, I realize everyone's hands are different, so it really is subjective-the Glock 26 is one of the most shootable pistols pound for pound out there. There is something special about the G26 design that allowed them to make a gun that size (only 4.17" tall) shoot like a Glock 17. Even though it's lighter, even though it has a shorter sight radius, and even though it is going to recoil a little more. It certainly shoots better than any single stack according to most people who own it and have experience with a variety of options. To me, the P30SK just doesn't compete because it's almost a half inch taller. At that point I might as well carry my G19 which is again, pound for pound, the most size efficient 15 round compact pistol option out there. In the end, for this shooter's hands, and I guess Massad Ayoob's and some others, the Glock 26 is really remarkable for it's ability to shoot as well as large guns and still be more concealable than any double stack I am familiar with, and many of the single stacks as well. So I'm not hating on the review, it is subjective, but for a lot of us the G26 is amazing. If I only had one firearm, it would be a G26. It will shoot better for me and most people than any single stack. It will shoot about as well as the bigger guns. You can use larger capacity mags, add light (Streamlight TLR-6), any sights or aftermarket parts you want, and it is as reliable as the sun rising in the morning. I am not a Glock fanboy, just a Glock 26 fanboy. One last thing, I didn't want to change any of the internals on my Glocks, but I noticed the mag release kind of dug into my finger a little bit when I shoot offhand (which I do as much as I do with my dominant hand). I broke down and got Larry Vicker's version and it really is better. I was skeptical thinking he was just peddling products, but it removed that pinching and became slightly easier for me to actuate (again, it's subjective). Anyway, sorry for the long response. Good thoughts on Glocks, and the truth is I think all the companies purposely do not give us everything we want so they can sell more pistols, but again, that's an opinion.
@HalfCrazy5202 жыл бұрын
My issue with Glock is that 5 generations into their design and after DECADES of production, incremental changes, and customer feedback... there is absolutely no excuse for a Glock not being the best polymer pistol you can buy, right out of the box. It should have the best ergos, the best sights, the best texture, the best serrations, the best magazines... it should need nothing.

One thing I don't like about Glocks, well at least both 19s and a 23 I shot, is the springy feeling you get when you shoot one. Kinda like the vibrations along the tang of a machete when you hit a nice hard piece of wood.

I missed my Gen3 19 from time to time. So getting this gun wasn't terrible on me, and I do agree parts of the Gen3 feel much more solid. Time will tell for me over the course of this guns life if she's going to hold up like the Gen3.
@DocMitchell698 жыл бұрын
DevilDolphin I'm not sure if the Gen 4s will hold up as well as the 3. Within only 500 rounds or so, I broke the trigger spring on my Gen 4. Had to push the trigger forward to reset it on occasion. That has made me skeptical of the Gen 4s, so I might just have to pick up a Glock 17 again, but just a Gen 3. I'm not entirely sure what it is about Glocks, but I just like them. Although I've been eyeing up some HKs on occasion. Looked at a couple today, but I'll only have enough $$$ to get one after I leave boot camp. Not too much longer here.

I owned G23, 27, 36, 30sf, and they are gone. The 40's never gave me any issues but I never felt any love towards them. The 45's would sometimes hiccup, and I can't have that. Could it have been me? If you like the HK45 I'll strongly suggest that over the Glock. You'll get much more mileage out of it. There's also the USP45 which still fits well in hand and shoots flat. The ergos on the HK45 are hard for any gun on the market to beat though. 10mm Glocks are probably the best 10s you can get before you find yourself dropping 1500 on one. Personally, I find Glocks to be one of the laziest firearms companies (hard to beat Colt). They make a decent pistol with the shittiest plastic sights you can have. 2 minutes of polishing gets you a damn good trigger, but they can't be assed to do that. Most of their pistols feel mediocre in hand, and their finger grooves give you the middle finger.

What did Smith and Wesson's legal team do?

They were fairly enthusiastic about gun control in the 90s.

What did you mean when you said S&W doesn't understand the 2nd amendment?
@navyman89038 жыл бұрын
During the last big gun control push, they initially began working with law makers attempting to limit our 2nd amendment rights. Which they later withdrew due to huge protests and letters. Recently their legal team released a statement saying something to the effect of "You can't modify our guns.." and threatening possible action against those who do. That's 2 strikes too many. I'm not giving them money if they're not going to have our back, after we've had theirs.

What did you mean about smith & Wesson? I thought I was the only one that noticed how he said Glock lol.
@navyman89038 жыл бұрын
S&W took heat for working with law makers to enact gun control basically. They were going to design guns for them, which later after pressure they abandoned. Second time, more recently they told people they can't modify their guns, namely the M&P series. Which was strike 2 for me. They're definitely on thin ice with me, and I'm not buying anything until they get about 10 years good conduct with me. I'm also not featuring any S&W anything on this channel until then. And glad I'm not the only one lol. Thanks for the comment man.

In the frame and some of the internal guts you can tell 100%. The construction of the slide and barrel would throw me though.

That is your first mistake listening to James Yeager. Glock 20 is an awesome gun, the 21 is just as good. Still like my usp 45 a lot more, but the 21 is a soft shooter

@navyman89038 жыл бұрын
Another brand video or review? If I do brand videos I'll only have a few to go. Beretta, HK which will probably be a 2 parter, and Sig. For handguns, long guns will be a touch more diverse. I'll see what I can drum up if that's what you're looking for.

Sure another brand review would be good if you got the time.

Glock is a high quality. The mags are fine. You don't need metal mags like at pmags. I do have a u22 I really like. You don't need too put a hole bunch of crap on a Glock new sights a new back plate and a bigger slidle stop

Love your reviews. Having ammo in the room, during a review, with multiple handling of the firearm...no real value and makes me a bit nervous for ND potential.
@navyman89038 жыл бұрын
Thanks I appreciate it. I do take precautions. IT's all about personal safety and the safety of those around you. I know lots of professionals who don't like to have ammo anywhere near the weapon, even in the same room at times. I don't hate on people who take more precautions than I do, and I understand the concern. I just ensure I follow the safety rules when handling a weapon. Which has gotten me this far. I also always check the weapon a few times before filming. Also before doing anything on the trigger.

Glocks cost $2000 and up innmy country... you can buy a beretta m9A1 for $1100...
@navyman89038 жыл бұрын
That's aggressive pricing for sure. I would have quite a few Beretta's over there at that rate. Glocks are not worth $2000 for sure. I'd have trouble paying $1100 for a Beretta too, but $2000 for a Glock is highway robbery.

The fact that a Glock can be customized isn't a negative. In fact, that is one of the main reasons why it is hugely popular. There is a reason why so many professionals who can afford to carry any weapon they choose, choose to carry a Glock. The fact that you can do almost anything to customize your Glock is why so many professionals choose it over other so-called better manufactured handguns.
@navyman89037 жыл бұрын
But to that same point, there are plenty of the same professionals who carry what you call "so-called better manufactured handguns" so both are true.
@phasar17 жыл бұрын
There's a difference between plenty and most, plenty of law enforcement personnel carry other brands. However, the overwhelming majority carry Glock.
@navyman89037 жыл бұрын
You say overwhelming majority, but PD's have been dumping Glocks a lot recently. So that majority is getting smaller by the day.
