Follow up. A cautionary tale- best judge a trigger after shooting it. After shooting this new trigger yesterday I'm going to have to eat some humble pie. I'll stand by my words that the trigger is no target trigger, and it maintains its "Glock" feel due to the creep and as installed in my handgun, the pull weight while improved, it was not vastly improved. However, the improvement over the old trigger in terms of range performance is considerable. I'd estimate a good 25% improvement in my ability to group rounds which I was not expecting to see. In objective terms- shooting off hand, Weaver stance, I was able to group 10 out of the 15 rounds into a single ragged hole measuring 1.5" off hand at 15 yards using the factory iron (or more accurately "plastic") sights. My extreme spread of the 15 rounds was 2.5" at 15 yards. With more practice I think I should be able to get my 15 round groups to 2" at 15 yards and hold the black at 25 yards on a 25 yard bullseye (which is as well as I can shoot any handgun). That would have been impossible for me to do with the original trigger. There is a lot of "me" and "my" in this follow up; your experiences may differ. I'm very glad I reserved final judgement for the range and in conclusion the $114 I sent to Glock for this trigger, was money well spent.

Thank you very much for your review, your comments were very helpful in managing my expectations. You seem to be among the lone voices out there not loving this trigger. I installed the performance trigger in my Gen 5 19 today. I will reserve final judgement for the range. Triggers are very subjective things, and anyone involved in the shooting sports for any length of time knows that no two firearms are alike- so triggers will vary, the next gun off the assembly line from yours may have a very different trigger. My bought new Glock Gen 5 certainly did not live up to the hype of having a better trigger than earlier generations. The trigger was very much "Glock," so I likely started out with a dog of a gun. Did the Glock performance trigger meet my expectations? No, not based on other reviewers' glowing reviews and measured pull weights into the 3-4 pound range. Is it better than the original trigger, I would give that a honest yes, it is better. Is it $114 better and was it worth the money? I'll see this weekend. My initial impressions dry firing after the installation, I would say at best it lost a pound of pull, and there is still quite a bit of creep after it hits the wall before it breaks. Glass rod...this is not. If the proof of this trigger's improved performance is in the pudding (after shooting it), I will follow up and hopefully with a glowing recommendation (could just be there is some magic yet to be discovered). Otherwise, consider me among those (few) who were a bit let down by the performance trigger. No matter, I'll not go so far as you and send this unit back. It is an improvement and I'll take what I can get.

I think you must have got a bad one. I have 3 and they are phenomenal. Hands down the best trigger you can put In a Glock.

@@TheFullNeilson yes, I own quite a few Caniks and 2 Walthers

@@jstud999 How do you feel the Glock performance trigger compares to those?
@jstud999 Жыл бұрын
@@TheFullNeilson I think it’s extremely similar. Almost identical
@TheFullNeilson Жыл бұрын
Yeah I don't even think they are comparable. The pre-travel on the Glock is much heavier and the wall is not as crisp or distinct.

What 3.5 connector are you using?
@attybong7 ай бұрын
with a minus connector, i found the gpt breaks way smoother than the stock trigger .. in fact, the red dot rarely moves when it breaks .. competition wise, it's a huge improvement from the stock trigger .. but that's only me 😊

I think you must have received a defected trigger. The performance trigger has a much crisper break than stock, ghost and even timney. Also pretravel doesn't affect a trigger's usability.

@@TheFullNeilson great question... Honestly, I'd have to revisit the canik and pdp to give an honest answer. I doubt that the glock is better but it's probably in the neighborhood if I had to guess.

I enjoy the Glock 45 gen 5 trigger. No need to swap. If I want a better trigger I’ll carry my staccato.

Not gonna lie, you got bad ones. I have one in my 19 and it’s absolutely the best trigger I’ve ever felt in a Glock.
@TheFullNeilson Жыл бұрын
That might be the case as I sure am hearing that a lot. I thought it felt substantially worse than the Timney Alpha trigger for Glocks which I don't recommend due to reliability issues. I also thought it was not better than the stock trigger with a 3.5 connector. It had almost no perceivable wall. I also think it substantially worse than the stock Canik trigger, Walther PDP trigger etc. I think most Glock owners have only used Glocks and so they don't know any different. It just does not sit well with me that Glock is charging $100 for a trigger that is still worse than factory triggers other manufactures are providing with their firearms. Thanks for your comment and have a nice day.

Sound like a glock hater 😂. I bought the performance trigger and changed the shoe for a ranger proof vex and its awesome.
