These heavier guide rods do feel better in the gun, adds weight to the business end. The problem with them is that they don't always work like the stock guide rod. I bought three of these, only two work. At $90 apiece, it's not guaranteed to work. Sent the one back, waited for a couple weeks to get a new one, that also did not work... I'm pretty sure I was sent the same guide rod back. I have three guns to test with, 43/43X/48. The one rod would not work in any of these three gun's. GS customer service wasn't a help, I cut my losses, and just figured I'd warn anyone interested in this product. Let the buyer beware...

@@juicebox22a You don't understand English? Most people that know these guns, are tracking with what I wrote, it's not complicated... So, for you, here it is: I bought Three Tungsten guide rods from the Glock Store... 3 X 90 = $270.00 (Not including shipping). Out of the three, one guide rod would not function in any of the three guns, G43, G43X, or G48. This one guide rod, would not stay put in the guns, it would jam the slide, rendering ANY of the above three guns dysfunctional, and tricky to field strip. I contacted GS customer service, they gave me an RMA. It took a week to them at GS, and a week to come back to me. When it finally did arrive, the guide rod they sent had the exact same problem... it jammed the slide. I'm pretty sure they sent me back the same defective part, but if I'm wrong, that's a 50% failure rate, instead of the 33.3% original failure rate. When I contacted CS @ GS, they informed me that my guide rod was fine, that I was doing something wrong, and would not refund my money... Ok, so now I understand your comments... You're either ignorant of what this part is, or how it functions in the gun...or, You work in the Glock Store Customer service dept... or, you're just a disingenuous fan boy troll... Which is it? 🖕

Dude you might dig DPM recoil guide rods...I love mine... You can just search it on KZbin to see reviews or Google it... It does make racking the slide a little heavier though but it reduces felt recoil and helps with failure to feed issues and ejection issues... A guy's gun had FTF issues and it solved that issue as well as allowing his dad to shoot his 10mm Glock again because the recoil became much more manageable...I was gonna go for a heavier guide rod initially but wanted it to also do more and found the DPM recoil guide rod... They give you 3 different springs (weighted)...I know I sound like a salesman but it's really that practical... There's also an internal spring sitting inside the rod that cushions the impact of the slide after firing... Just an all around sound investment

Just got one and installed it. It took a lot just to lock the slide back. Makes me wonder if when it's empty of the slide will actually lock back. Reason I even bought this, is I bought the glock pyramid trigger gen 2 set up and installed it. Loaded up three magazines as I didn't have a lot of time, and each magazine had one feed failure where the round wouldn't fully seat (It was close but obviously not close enough) into the chamber. Hopefully I'm going to get out here soon, and try this out. Other than that the trigger system is absolutely phenomenal.

I bought this for my 43x and have shot 500rnds though it. Did reduce muzzle flip. The guide rod did start to unscrew from the base though. Was able to pull the spring back and hand tighten the rod back in. Shot another 100rnds through it and it has not loosened up yet.

@@chrishonerkamp5979 which one are you trying to order? They’re usually in stock. They’re made in-house so if it’s backordered your best bet is to order it so you’re guaranteed one the next time they’re queued to be built.

I polished the guide rod by pushing the guide rod forward and wedged a socket between barrel and rod. Akso polished feed ramp on barrel.

Well Lenny got my tungsten guide rod in and changed it out on the range and DAM I had to use all my muscles and then some to be able to pull the rack back. I have never seen a slide that hard to rack-- Can I return it?

I have been watching Lenny Magill for some time and just recently aquired a 43x. I was looking to buy this pure tungsten guide rod, some SA mags and some internal parts. Unfortunately, due to the negative comments on customer service and the multiple comments on issues with this product, I am now hesitant to do business with this company. 19. Your slide is that of a 19. Frame is that of a 17. Go with what fits your slide.

Hey I’m not sure if you had the choice of spring LB, but if you did, what weight did you go with? Too heavy and it’ll dip, too light and it’ll snap the slide back faster and recoil more. Make sure you get the best LB spring for your gun! Would probably be 16-18lbs ideally.

I’m having an issue with misfires on my new 43x. 10 out of every 100 rounds are misfire. When taking the slide off the frame, the OEM guide rod falls out. When just racking the slide a few times, the guide rod will either jump up a notch or come completely out. Tried with a OEM guide rod from my local shop and the same thing happened. Should I upgrade the guide rod or just have Glock look at the firearm? Thanks!

Just replaced mine on my glock 27 and I'm very happy with it all so did the ◇◇ replacement barrel for the G27 but I do have a question... no SN# on the new barrel would that be considered a ghost barrel?

No. The barrel is a perishable item, and not considered a "firearm" therefore the serial number is irrelevant after replacing or swapping out the factory barrel. The only part of the firearm that a serial number matters legaly is the frame or reciever of the firearm.

These need to be uncaptured. I had to change out the plunger spring ao the slide wouldn't move to the rear while pulling the trigger. I have 3 of these, uncaptured, in 3 different 19s. All work amazing. The captured doesn't hold the slide in place with enough tension.

this spring will make it noticeably harder to rack the pistol. more over, when I had this spring installed into my Glock 43x it was giving me all sorts of problems. the slide wouldn't go into battery completely and often times it would jam the next round. well used g43x that was freshly cleaned and oiled too.

I think the spring is the same. Only the guide rod that it glides back and forth on changes. I have a tungsten guide rod on a G22, and it helps a lot without being harder to rack. It works best on the harder kicking rounds.

The spring weight is the same as stock with these pure tungsten guide rods. There is a reduced power tungsten guide rod which should make it easier for you with a slightly lighter spring weight.

Very disappointed. I was very hopeful, I’m a gadget guy, so I jumped all over this, however what I got was a gun that only works some times now. I think the spring is to weak, I’m not an engineer so I’m not sure. I emailed customer service, they replied with one email, what kind of ammunition are you using, and does you slide have any cutouts. I replied advising it should not matter what ammunition I’m using but I told them anyway and yes it has a red dot. I have not heard back from them. I think I paid close to $100 for this thing. I kinda want some answers?

I myself have no experience with the G43x tungsten guide rods, as my G43x still uses the stock one, which I find to be just fine - I will likely purchase one of the tungsten ones to try. My comment was directed at your Glock 19, which I *did* replace the guide rod with, and after installation I experienced several malfunctions over nearly 1k rounds, which were the first I had ever experienced with my gen 3 G19 (note, gen 3, not 5 as you mentioned). Swapped back to the factory, flawless performance ever since, and because it shoots perfectly fine for me with the stock guide rod, I will just continue to use it. In my experience, training with any new "upgrades" is paramount, and if it works for your gun, and you trust it with your life, awesome. For me, for my G19, stock is king (aside from sights - Glock sights suck)

No, unless you engrave or put "death to everybody" 💀 or remove the safety parts of a semi auto pistol you will be okay. I add a few custom parts to my Glocks. Slide locks, slide stops, 3.5lb double diamond connectors, stainless steel pin kits, steel night sights, gold TiN type pistol barrels. ✅️
