Glock 19 gen 5 that's been modified
Radian Ramjet barrel and Afterburner comp
Radian Guardian optic plate and Radian Six sights
Trijicon RMR Type 2 adjustable
Surefire X300 Ultra A
Centennial Defense pin and takedown lever kit
Vickers Tactical extended slide stop/slide release
Overwatch Precision Half Blue magwell
Polished all the internals which are OEM and I utilize OEM magazines.
Aftermarket magazine extensions I recommend are
Shield Arms
Killer Innovations
Arc Division
Tyrant Designs CNC
Warne
And yes, even the Strike Industries polymer and aluminum magazine extensions are decent.

Solid video. All your choices are very well vetted, and/or have quality and innovation built into them. As you mentioned, the components are expensive, but you get what you pay for. I’ve been running a very similar system but, on a Gen 3. Again Solid Video.👍🏻

Just an FYI: you can’t say something is overpriced and then say “you’re getting what you’re paying for”. Those are completely oppositional statements. Something can only be one or the other, it can’t be both.
@2amichaelj
@2amichaelj 4 ай бұрын
I understand what you're saying however I'm more or less stating the laws of diminishing returns. Price per performance is negligible for most. For example the ramjet is overpriced because you can almost get the same amount of performance out of a $100 threaded barrel and a $100 comp which is half the price... almost. So that little bit of performance is overpriced but you're paying for that little bit extra. You're getting what you're paying for. That little bit extra. It makes sense in my head but I do see your point.
@OtiumBorealis
@OtiumBorealis 3 ай бұрын
They are not oppositional statements. They're not even necessarily mutually exclusive statements. "overpriced" is a subjective term that means something is more expensive than the speaker considers fitting for that product or service. "you get what you pay for" refers to the general principle that if you you pay less, you get lower quality/more features and if you pay more you get better quality/more features. For example, the best avaliable service can be outrageously expensive compared to its competition, even if the benefit over them is not proportional to the price difference.

Not telling you to do anything but that stippling sounds nice on that 19x. If you shoot rapidly, the ramjet is a nice part that actually makes follow up shots easy. Tracking the dot is so much nicer. If you don't do rapid fire, it's a waste of money. It's expensive too but i would 💯 do the purchase over again. Look around and you can find them with coupon codes for $320ish. It's still a lot.

@2amichaelj
@2amichaelj 7 ай бұрын
I do not have an EPS but I would assume it's the same internals as the 407/507ks just enclosed. I honestly haven't had any durability issues with any of my Holosuns. I've heard people having issues with condensation getting into the glass of the 509Ts though. My 407k is on a carry gun I use quite a bit and it's been a workhorse for the last year. If you're looking into the radian guardian they also make it for the EPS which would add a layer of protection too.

Had a quick question. I see you like scopes. If you had to choose between a red dot or holographic sight, do you have a preference? Thinking aim point pro vs eotech xps3. Thank you.
@2amichaelj
@2amichaelj 7 ай бұрын
Honestly my eyes like holographics better. I do like the donut as it gives you a quick reference point to shoot when you're within 50 yards. You basically aim the bottom portion of the circle at the target. Holographics stay the same size and don't gain MOA when you magnify them either which is a pro. The battery life sucks but I typically keep a stock of Surefire CR123A rechargeable batteries on hand so it's not an issue to me. Eotech comes standard with a nice QD mount too. There is no auto on function which is a big con with the battery life. Red dots are going to be a lot lighter, less bulky and are much more simple to maintain. Batteries last longer, are easier to store in a grip or stock and are cheaper. There are more mounting options especially for the T2 footprint. I personally think the Aimpoint T2 is more rugged than an Eotech as well. You can keep an Aimpoint on without worrying about the battery. That's one thing I always have to worry about with Eotech. Is my battery going to make it through the day, the week, the month, etc. If you want to keep a nice lighter weight, easy, no frills set up go red dot or in your case Aimpoint. There's honestly more pros to red dots than with holographics. If you like that you get everything out of the box, great mount, QD feature and a built in BDC for about $200+ cheaper go with Eotech. Not that it should matter but aesthetically there's nothing that looks like an Eotech which I personally like. If I could only chose one it would be Aimpoint T2 in a Scalarworks 1.57 leap mount. You're looking at about $1,000 for that opposed to $550 for an Eotech EXPS-3 without anything else to purchase.

Anyone who says the ramjet is any easier to remove than a threaded comp doesn't shoot their weapon very much. These things get carbon locked on HARD, just like a threaded comp does, requiring soaking with a solvent to remove, and sometimes percussive maintenance with the plastic side of a punch hammer.

@@unholyspoon4886 250 round string is way more than enough to carbon lock a ramjet/afterburner. I take it you don't shoot your weapon more than a box of 50 every 6 months. Ask some other guys who actually run these in competition. I keep a small paintbrush in my kit to wet the entire interface between the comp and barrel down with 0w-30 in between stages just so I have a chance of getting it apart when I get home without an overnight soak. Nice job calling attention to both of your lack of experience, though. Something tells me you don't even own one.

Better warranty and literally from an engineering standpoint that's patented, it is. Whether or not you need that is arguable. I bought a used Trijicon RMR type 1 and the LED quit working in it. I contacted Trijicon (this was 8 years after they released it with a 2013 date on the RMR) and they sent me a brand new RMR type 2. Trijicon has one of the best warranties in the industry from my experience. They made a lifetime customer that day. Holosun, I've had a 507C dead on arrival. It was a pain to get them to uphold the warranty. In fact, I just returned it to the retailer as it was easier than trying to get Holosun to work on it. Don't get me wrong, I like holosun products but there is a reason for the price difference in my opinion.
