I just got two sets of these gloves in for review. If you have any questions about them I'll do my best to answer them once I have some street time with them in a few weeks. Enjoy!

I can imagine these wouldn't be that useful in a law enforcement capacity. Could easy get damaged if you're rolling around, fighting someone and good fucking luck getting shit out of your pockets. Shoulder mounted seems like a better hands free option. Also, Mechanix already did the glove light thing years ago.

free field training hey man, do you mind covering in your review if this would better than a headlamp light that clips to the lapel of your shirt or external vest like the Streamlight Bandit. That’s what some of the people at my agency run and it seems like that would be a better, more stable, less obtrusive option than something hand mounted. Thanks!

No Budget Comments There are a few thousand cops (and security, etc) using these gloves and loving them. So that speaks volumes itself. Also, a hand-held light is just as easily damaged if you roll around or drop it, right? Most cops I know never keep anything in their pockets...at most a pocket knife with a clip. A good cop never has his/her hands in their pockets; one of the deadly sins for cops. Every cop knows this. Learned this in the academy. And the problem with a shoulder mounted light is the inability to turn it on and off as needed (unless you reach up and turn it off manually...which defeats the purpose of keeping your hands free) and the inability to point it at something specific while working. Not to mention that you also are putting a beacon of light fixed right next to your head; making for a perfect target. Hence why any cop who knows anything never wears a headlamp. It’s not for everyone, but it is clearly a hit for the thousands the who have been open minded enough to give it a try. Once again, not for everyone.

Hmm. I'm always a little sceptical about the Heath Robinson style gear. It'll be interesting to see how they work out after the review period.

That is a great idea! Either they make the elastic ones that absolute shit. Like 2 lumen or there fairly good lumen but the light is too far up. That's perfect will definitely buy.

No Budget Comments You’re 100% correct. They don’t. But they do help them to be seen from a distance. That’s was the point. Not to point it into a drivers eyes as they pass you and blind them. But to warn drivers from afar...like the lights on the handlebars of bikes and the ones clipped to the chests of runners. Same kinda concept.

Police Officers DO NOT wear headlamps. Miners and construction workers do, and should. A police officer should never wear a headlamp; highly dangerous.
