I recently quit my job in tech because of how unfair i was treated. These jobs are always available to us if we really want. I plan on following my artistic side as well and definitely understand the panic. Had multiple breakdowns since, almost every night i would look at other jobs and be tempted to apply, had literal nightmares abt being at my old job and having a fit of rage 😂. I didn't tell my parents either...and i'm 35 😂 we can do this 💪🏽❤

Yes to following your artistic side! So proud of you for quitting because damn these places be hella toxic and you realize it even more when you're not surrounded by it everyday anymore. i just had a similar breakdown in the past weekend. i blamed myself for even having that breakdown, to the point of even saying that im having a breakdown because i like being in that state.. it is so validating to see others also going through the same and to finally understand that i do need to let my mind and body process the feelings that it had been ignoring. thank you for being vulnerable on the net, lord knows many people like me need to see how others are going through it too

Crying is emotional rest. You are doing the right thing by reading and journaling. That is how you self-heal. Though I hate to see good people like you sad and cry, I know it's necessary. In December I had lived through some of the toughest times of my life that had me making really big decisions that I never thought I would ever have to make. I endured LOADS of emotional & physical trauma that make me emotional even to this day. When my life came crumbling down, I didn't inform my parents in fear of them reprimanding me when I needed unconditional support & love (which they don't know how to give. AT ALL). Even though I may feel a void by not mentioning the adversity I faced, I also feel wildly free. I leaned on the people who could help me most. I don't know when I'll tell them or if I'll even tell them, but I've accepted that I can be happy & content in my life just leaving that private. I have never felt so much self doubt - it makes me want to vomit just thinking back, but I'm slowly mending & learning to love myself again despite all the chaos I endured. Wishing you well from the bottom of my heart. May many moments of triumph arise for you throughout 2023, Cynthia!! Take care! :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your job - women in tech too can be so unfairly treated. As a woman in tech myself especially in TO, it can be a really awkward space. The conversations are there, but not enough or not properly directed. I hope you find that thing that brings you not just income, but joy along with it. Korea sounds really exciting!
