“we live for the nights decor it reveals what we dream of” to me is the dark, black, nothingness that some of us who deal with depression long for at times. we’re just struggling and ready for it to be over, and it does pile up and become overwhelming.

I haven't heard this song before. I'm actively listening as I'm replying to this... I keep getting references to his other songs with it, his thoughts are like a nod to March to the Sea. The very nature of this song with the depressing lyrics but the happy tone is a nod to Trapdoor. The song itself hides behind a mask. He's always referencing in one way or another how daylight and night time are his Ying and yang struggle. This whole song ties into so many other songs! I can't even handle him! Such a lyrical poet.

Regional at best is for sure bad The vocals are quite bad and the production isn’t good. The lyrics were getting somewhere.

@@knower1514 Subjective. Some people prefer a more raw feel. Although yes the production and vocals definitely aren’t as great as the newer albums. But, this still holds something special in its own way and so do a lot of the earliest songs. I almost prefer this to a lot of the newer stuff.

Sometimes i fantasize my death. hit by a car, hang from the ceiling, and etc. This song is important to me i am super related to the message and it inspire me to live my life even there is so much noise inside my head. It help me to strive to be alive and not to afraid to seek help

i believe the chorus is about when someone is trying to reach out and help you, but your scared. youve gotten this sort of comfort in this discomfort, and deppresion, anxiety, etc. so even if its help, and positivity, you refuse it. youd rather play that song to the glowing eyes, the bad thoughts, because you know them better and are more comfortable with them than this light and positivity. youre afraid of this new thing offered because you dont know it. its so different than what you know. and you know theyre bad, you know they arent healthy, but thet are all you know and the eyes almost comfort you.

Great reaction fren🤗...all the glowing eyes to me is all of us fans standing in the audience staring up at him as he sees us and sings to all of the glowing eyes. He wants to keep singing and helping us out instead of giving up or giving in to death IDK, just my thoughts. And when he says we all have romantic fantasies about what dying truly is.....instead of thinking death as a good thing or a exciting thing, I take his idea on the words romantic fantasies as being were someone who's contemplating suicide is unaware of what dying would truly do to everyone around them therefore romantic being uneducated or unaware of the result of suicide. I don't know if I'm making any sense at all. But just my take. NEW ALBUM!!!! May 21st!!!! 😱🤗😁🥰🥰🥳

I don’t think that he so much romanticises death as in the want to die but in the way that people believe that they will get fame or recognition if they do die, the ‘if I kill myself people will pay attention to me’ thing. There is so much in this song to uncover, but I think the biggest is how hard it is to choose change. Sometimes it’s easier to be in that dark place than to muster the energy to fight it, the glowing eyes of your demons can seem like your only friends & can be hard to say goodbye to.

One of my favourite songs off the album! To me, this song is Tyler fighting with his suicidal thoughts- he wants to go, but he isn’t ready to say goodbye to “all the glowing eyes” (I take this to mean fans at a concert). Hes looking for a reason to stay and that’s the only one he can think of. In regards to the “romantic thoughts of what dying truly is” immediately after he says “fall off the grid”. I think this is something a lot of suicidal people can relate to. It’s difficult to explain without having been in that dark place yourself; but sometimes dying almost feels like it would be an escape, or a relief- like you could hit an off switch and everything about you would disappear. You would fall off the grid; your mistakes and burdens would dissolve; you would get to melt into obscurity. Tyler is a poet, and he expresses this as “romantic thoughts” bc it’s somewhat of a daydream we have about these thoughts, much the way others would daydream about growing old and falling in love- if that makes sense

Holy moly all the cryptic stuff!! On twitter I'm following the "scaled and icy" account and they've been sending super cryptic notifications, that when i go to twitter the notification i received is not there! Also am regularly checking into the scaled and icy website looking for changes. The twitter account said some cryptic stuff about tomorrow. Fans suspect tomorrow a possible single drop called "shy away". We'll see!!! If i had seen one of those billboards that popped up everywhere today, i would not have thought of TOP. Am mostly relying on the intelligent fans who are figuring things out @

For me I always thought of the glowing eyes as him talking about the crowd at a concert, the people that are looking back up at him. I think Tyler likes to speak to the audience directly in a lot of his songs.

think you're spot on! also, yesterday a new album release date was discovered by fans along with some posters promoting an event - it has the release date slated as May 21, but nothing has been officially announced on top social media, or by Tyler/Josh - it seems as a bit odd, but either way i would expect a new album by May 21 at the latest - i don't think they'd let that date get out if there wasn't something coming in the very near future

Great reaction, i like the multiple interpretations. Who's at the door? To me this is a medic offering help. Or friends. He is recalling his thoughts having attempted suicide. He wonders if he should fight to live, and if he should stick around because the euphoria onstage with the glowing eyes of the audience as they sing along. It's so paradoxical that one can be so happy and sad at the same time. I think that the realization that death isn't just a peaceful end, especially if a failed suicide attempt, where now the failed death is simply another painful failure. When he says make them stop he is pleading to stop the voices in his head. The conflicting emotions. There's more but that's it for now. I don't dislike this song, but it's not on my playlist.

Yeah, dark lyrics with upbeat sound (classic TOP). Topics are classic Tyler >>> Suicide. Religious beliefs. Night vs morning etc etc. My take on his music and this song>>> Lyrics same theme as ""Ode To Sleep"" song (actual demons torture at night). This is from RAB album, an older album when most his older songs were from religious standpoint referencing demons, and not the later psychological standpoints to his music (blurryface album). So, this song, he's haunted at night with actual demons (glowing eyes) driving him to suicide (hanging oneself from ""ceiling fan"" he mentioned. Some suicides are done by hanging from ceiling fixture. Recall the cd cover for ""self-titled"" album the picture has a ceiling fan that is tattered.). Family/friends knocking at his door, ""called for help, of this I'm sure"" (911 call cause he's suicidal). But nightly demons are what he's used to, they are what he knows, they are his companions. There is an optimistic line ""redemption's not that far and darkness is going down"" meaning morning is coming and demons go away in the morning (until next night). End of song he cries out for help ""make them stop"", make the demons stop taunting him to suicide.

The glowing eyes seem to represent a form of negativity of which the narrator is reluctant to let go of (addiction). This wish for the preservation of those things that cause our sadness may seem strange, but is actually rather common among the depressed." source Genius. PS: IDK, but I think that the nurses from the psychiatric ward are coming to get him, because someone in his family noticed his worrysome behaviour and called for help. That's what comes into my mind. (in my country there is a saying that "Call the white coats.", if someone's behaviour is abnormal.)

I just know that from the beginning...Tyler and Josh write and make music for their fans....they care about their skeleton clique...also they make music for their fans to be able to sing along and enjoy live at their shows...and they may write dark lyrics with seriously indepth meanings but put joyful sounding music to go with those lyrics to make their message enjoyable and not so dark, gloomy and sad sounding...ok..I ve lost my train of thought...lol
