Good Video but I need to chime in with my experiences. If you live in colder climates half of the year like me, the 3m 5 minute Epoxy used in this video cracked and separated time after time after time. Very frustrating. I discovered that if you use Locktite 1 hour curing epoxy, it works better and won't separate from the plastic in the cold. Also if you like your custom made gauge pod A-Pillar looking like 50-100 grit sandpaper, then by all means use the textured paint in this video. Now if your like me and you want the ultra smooth look that flows well like if your vehicle came from the factory with multiple gauge pods, your gonna have to do a ton of wet sanding. I mean a ton. After the epoxy cures, I get my dremel out and use a sandpaper wheel and knock down the big uneven spots. Now this is where your patients will be tested. Make sure you have a breathing mask and eye goggles. Go out and buy a lot of Gorilla superglue packages with at least 1 of them that includes there pixie brush. Use that pixie brush and paint the entire A-Pillar surface with superglue. "Again make sure you wear a breathing mask and eye goggles". What the superglue does is that it soaks up and fills in the uneven parts of the surface. After 8 hours or a good nights sleep, the glue should by fully hardened and now your ready to wet sand. Go outside with a bucket of water or to your bathtub and start wet sanding using 800 grit sandpaper and sand the entire A-Pillar down until you see the glue and the epoxy is thinned out matching and blended onto the A-Pillar plastic. If it's not then your not done wet sanding. (By the way your gonna need a good amount of 800 grit sandpaper and your gonna need to apply the glue multiple times and wet sand it back down until you feel the A-Pillar/gauge pods is smoothed out to your standards. Then google your interior's color or whatever color you want and apply the spray paint. Don't be afraid to paint the wet sanded glue. There's nothing wrong with it and once it's painted, you won't notice that super glue was even used to make your gauge pods.

I forgot to mention that that when using the locktite 1 hour curing epoxy, "Comes in a Green colored package" it can get kind of messy. But first what I do when I make Triple Gauge pods for my 93-02 Hardtop F-Body customers, I first sand down the surface of the factory A-Pillar like whats done in this video. Then I test fit the universal triple gauge pod to see how it fits and then I heat treat certain areas and re-shape certain parts that are out of position like whats done in another video you guys made. After that, I take out my plastic welder and melt and weld the universal triple gauge pod to the prepped surface of factory A-Pillar. Then a day later is when I start to apply the Loctite 1 hour epoxy. Make sure you use a piece of cardboard to protect the counter or table that your gonna use to do this project cause the Loctite epoxy will drip. Since I know it will drip I have to stay with the A-Pillar and use a plastic spoon and keep applying the epoxy to the welded areas after it runs and drips off. Sure you can mix up just a smidge of Loctite 1 hour epoxy at a time but your gonna need to cover all the plastic welds at once so you don't create boundary layers that can cause a weak spot or spots. Also you can take some tape and a paper towel or even cardboard and build a wall around where you want the epoxy to stay and cure but after it cures, parts of the cardboard or paper towel and the tape will need to be ground off using a Dremel do to the epoxy sticking to it. After grinding off the excess epoxy is when your gonna go through the process of applying super glue and then wet sanding and again and again until your satisfied that your Triple Gauge Pod is nice and smooth.

Hi, I have ordered a triple inline gauge pod and looking to mould it in to a pop out clock panel (subaru), is epoxy the way to go? I have thought about filler / fiberglass and finishing putty ect.
