recently bought and i was confused for a second because it wasnt reading or building boost at all while driving normally and i know i have it connected properly so there isnt any problems there. But i noticed only when flooring it, i seen that the boost was being built. Is this how it reads? Or was it meant to read boost while driving normally as well?

What vehicle? This is 60psi so you may not be building enough boost under normal driving to move the needle.
