Glowy Autumnal Makeup and a great new lipstick from NARS
This week I create a Glowy autumnal makeup and celebrate 30 years of NARS with a fab new lipstick that I can't stop wearing. I'm really loving the trend towards the red brown colour palette that is coming through in both beauty and fashion this Autumn. And of course I'm still hanging onto that tan for just a little bit longer. I'm not ready to let summer go just yet.

Oh yes.... that's the kind of brick red I wore in the 90s and it's so flattering. Thanks for the recommendation.....a definite purchase! A beautiful tonal look and so interesting that you put more eyeshadow on to make your eyes look less made up. Thanks for a great video Caroline - I always get nervous when you apply these liquid blushes because they look soooo pigmented but the way you use your brushes to blend is genuis! It gives me more confidence to just go for it!!

Elizabeth Arden used to have a shade of lipstick called Bronze Lame. I always had compliments on it, and used it for years and of course they discontinued it (errrr). Have been trying to find a shade that I might like almost as much and this might be it. Thank you once again Caroline for a wonderful video.

I dye my eyebrows using a product called just for men. I get it in the drugstore it's made for men's facial hair and also like a semi permanent hair coloring I guess men can use on their heads as well. You mix a couple of different tubes of product together and you, put it on your eyebrows for about 10 minutes. Voilà works perfectly and no ammonia.

This looks gorgeous, thank you for sharing a look that feels different. It has a great combo of feeling in the world of no-makeup-makeup because it’s all diffused and light eyes but also feels extremely polished at the same time. Lovely. Also this lipstick is beautiful, thanks for devoting a whole look to it! It reminds me slightly of a beloved (and sadly discontinued in the states) Nars lipstick called Afghan Red. That one is slightly more berry but has a similar feeling. It also reminds of another sadly discontinued lipstick called Jules by Julie Hewett which is very similar to this in the brown/brick red vibe. Needless to say, I’m thankful to know about a color like this that is widely in stock! I have been a fan of brown reds since I found them as they are much, much more flattering for me than other reds I think. I have very dark hair and light skin with some freckles. I find between the redness in my face and freckles, it’s hard to wear red lipstick. Though, your tips and tricks have helped me a LOT to understand needing to neutralizing my skin tone first and remove the redness in order to wear red lipstick…. On that note, would you ever considering doing a tutorial on makeup for those of us with freckles? Unlike a lot of people with freckles, my skin isn’t very fair and I’m not covered in them. I’m more light with a sprinkle but there’s enough of them that I realize it absolutely does impact how makeup looks on my face. Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! ❤

Hi Caroline I really like Nars lipstick and plan on picking up the mauve shade in this line soon. It’s one of the only brands that understands lipstick also needs undertones to work on cool toned skin, so unlike most brands they don’t all turn orange on me. The previous packaging wasn’t the most luxurious but the shades and formulas worked really well. This new packaging is so much more expensive looking and like a higher end brand should be (part of what you pay for is the component after all). I have several Nars lipsticks already and enjoy all of them. This particular shade isn’t for me (super pale and extremely cool toned with ashy blonde hair and grey eyes), but it looks fabulous on you with the warmth in your post Summer skin and more golden highlights in your hair. Caroline, I have a question ( I’m not a brush person but I’m open to using this …. appliance if I feel … it’s safe): if I apply rich skin care , don’t I remove it/lift it/move it when I apply foundation/concealer with a brush? I feel that it can’t exactly happen once you use your fingers as they don’t take in /absorb the skin care whereas brush ‘hairs’bristles might/do/will. Or not? I am a little at a loss here. Not sure if my line of reasoning is valid

Morning Caroline! I saw Nars had a new lipstick out. It looks like they have a mauve pink, so I'm definitely searching that out! Btw who do I write to at Max Factor (I believe you have worked/work with them) to ask what's happened to the Creme Puff Blush shade Lavish Mauve? It's my favourite colour blush and the only blush I've finished multiples of. I can't find it anywhere. I have bought some backups on Ebay as I'm afraid they have discontinued it. It is such a lovely cool toned pink mauve colour. They kept Nude Mauve which I do love, but it is more like a blush bronzer shade on me. For those of us fair people who suffer everything looking warm on them, Lavish Mauve is a perfect shade in a market that is rather over saturated with warm colours. Thanks, Emma x

Love lipstic, cheeks took are lot to bring in line...overall to much color i feel that soft and natural is in and this reminds me of the past. Also, Dior, D&G, etc are too expensive - paying for the label not contenet. Not a vlog that was useful to me.
