Don't get me wrong either, you do get a full on Gears campaign, not like Judgment, but I guess because there's so much that happened in the last 25 years, it feels like they could have put so much more. Myrrah's original plan was peace with humanity if Adam Fenix killed the lambent. Unfortunately he wasn't an imulsion expert, he was a weapons expert so he took too long and RAAM helped push Myrrah into war with humanity so they could then flood the hollow and kill the lambent. Sad thing is, Eileen Fenix WAS an expert in imulsion and was the first to meet the locust and was killed. Had that not have happened, Myrrah would've made her deal with Eileen who probably could have saved them and prevented the whole war.

Holy shit. This is a great start to a new trilogy. I loved this story and the new cast of characters. It was great seeing Marcus, Baird, Cole, and Sam again. Still looking badass as ever. If I had to rate the new team then it would have to be Del as #1, Kait as #2, and James as #3. They were all so good. Things to note: Kait and James are obviously going to get together and be a couple by the time this trilogy is over. Baird and Sam did get together it would seem unless I mistook that scene. I also have a feeling that one or some of the old crew are going to die sometime during the next two games. The Swarm is a hell of alot cooler then the Locust, more disgusting too. I can't wait to see what they do with them in terms of more enemy types. Also, Gears 2 final boss was shit just like how the final boss for Gears 4 was shit so hopefully they got the shit bosses out of the way and the next two final bosses will be good since Gears 1 and 3 boss fights were great. Interesting that Kait is the grand daughter of Myra, can't wait to see how that plays out since the Swarm are looking for a Queen to lead them just like how Myra led the Locust. Kait might be in danger in the later games. She can't die cuz James has to get all up in that. I'd rate this game as a 9/10. The story was good, it was interesting to see how they'd try to explain how the Locust are back but in a different, nasty form. The characters were great, the interactions they had with each other felt real. The humor in Gears of War has always been funny and great, but I felt they may have gone a little bit overboard with the humor in Gears 4, thats a very minor complaint though. I can't fucking WAIT for Gears 5 and 6 now. Consider me HYPED!!

I know the past "trailer" we got for Gears 5 this past E3 in 2019 was awkward and... Definitely something. But to even understand it just a little, you had to have played Gears of War 4. The trailer got made fun of for being what looked like an emo kid's dream, which I will admit it does look like that. And I'm not gonna defend the trailer itself, but it kinda reminds us of the note we left off of in Gears 4. The ending of Gears 4 was certainly a tremendously interesting way to begin a new trilogy. Gears 5 is also being heralded as Gears of War being feminized, but honestly having played GOW4, I do understand making Kait the main playable character. This is her story. I did find her more interesting than JD, even if he is the son of the bad-ass, hardcore Marcus Fenix. That's not because I am an SJW who worships women like goddesses, but because I can recognize a developing character over a generic soldier guy, which is what JD was and there is no way to deny that. I don't have much to say about Del, he's like the token black guy and I seriously doubt he could live up to what Number 83, THE COLE TRAIN (WOOOOO!!) was. Anyway, I'm looking forward to Gears 5, but I hope this franchise is treated properly and not being turned into some SJW catastrophe.

Great game. The story drags in the middle but the opening and ending we're good enough to me, that I feel like I didn't waste 6 hours of my life. Gears has always been a little light on complex and heavy on great characters and personality. Overall I'd give this title a 9.2.
