I don’t think people understand how talented these cats are, making those prefect cuts, having discipline that takes years of experience

I love this carpet..for high traffic restaurants, churches, etc. I like some of the other products Shaw makes that you can row cut the butt seams as nice as length seams. I put a Golden Corral in Zephyrhills in two nights with this stuff..very nice invisible seams, indestructible. Nice job.

How do you prep the floor after the demo, it wasn’t shown? Do you remove old glue or just put new one on top?
@giovanniperez7800
@giovanniperez7800 2 жыл бұрын
You don’t remove old glue. In most cases, the glue from the previous carpet turns into dust. The only prep is to shop vac all the dust, debri, etc.

I would use a utility blade to double cut, It’s much more sturdy. A carpet blade is pretty flexible when applying too much pressure

@@FloorsbySouthernboys Thank you Sir!! That technique breakdown is really going to help. So, after the peice is cut to size and sitting where you need it, you roll back an edge and glue? Then lay back in and roller, and then the same from other edge? Do you just glue the outer couple feet? The jute back carpet I just took up had single trowel passes about every 3 feet.
@FloorsbySouthernboys
@FloorsbySouthernboys 3 жыл бұрын
@@MovingToMnPro You will need to pull the carpet halfway back while it is in place and glue half of it entirely hold it over into the glue roll it and then on the other half back and do the exact same thing, do you want to fully cover your floor with adhesive

To seam to the existing burgundy carpet, you could have lifted about 2-3 inches from the seam edge, ran about 1 inch of the new carpet underneath the burgundy carpet and used a top cutter to trace cut your new carpet to the burgundy carpet for a tight seam.

@@FloorsbySouthernboys no problem. Just don't expect any tips on residential stretch-in carpet installation from me. LOL. I am a lifelong commercial guy. Your residential carpet install videos are great and i am sure they will help me out on future jobs. Thank you. I also seen that you make more money if people let the ads play all the way through, so i will not be skipping ads when i watch your videos. You do good work. Nice to see people that still care about the work they put their name on. Keep it up!

Pull an inch of the red carpet all the way around so you can get an inch of the blue carpet then take your top row cutter an trace it! Or use a utility knife and trace by hand!!! Works great no need for all the notching an straight edging!!!

Double cut in a free hand serpintine, seam will be invisible!! I've laid thousands of yds of that product!! I had a 5000 yd job of it and one room was 17cuts 74 ft long side by side! Myself doing the seam trimming by double cutting freehand serpintine cutting had five guys gluing, sealing an cutting down walls an cove basing... Did that room in one 11 hour day!!!

no lifts worse than the old green bigelow adhesive.. u see green glue u just wanna cry.. we did a best buy and rug was stuck so much that we hired a ride on lifter to come in and he would get a running start at it and stop dead.. ended up lifting the concrete with it.. was amazing but the first few nights we was lifting by hand and self propelled Sinclair machine and it was pure hell

Your main seams will be invisible if you have the carpet to overlap 4 inches each seam and use utility knife and serpintine free hand the seam!!! I had a large room about 15 years ago, it took 17cuts side by side 74 feet each I serped everyone of them and had 4 men gluing an did the room in 11 hours!!! Over 1600 yards in a day @$3.50=$5600 day best I ever had by far!!

I agree with you Benito caspo, i worked with a fitter who was always throwing his blades on the floor, until one day he picked up a blade on his power stretcher pad and it went straight into his knee, surgeon said it was a better cut then he could do, damaged for life now and walks with a bad limp,1st thing i teach my trainees is knife and blade safety, I always risk assess every part of a job.
