I for one want to see how they properly heal the transom and the glass weight and schedule as well as the material used (type of wood/foam core/remboard...ect). I'd also like to know if they are using a skim coat of cab-o-sil or if they are using the proper 3 coat soak wet roll out. Either one is good and I tend to take the short cut anyway. Thanks

I've spent 10 years building super yachts in Italy and I can't tell you how inspiring for the workers it will be to have you two there helping on the build ✌️, not only will it raise their morals it'll ensure you get the best build possible. I'm so happy to see how happy Riley is at this moment. All the best guys, so many adventures to look forward to.

This is fantastic behind the scenes coverage of the build that highlights the craftsmanship of these fine workers, but do you honestly thing Riley jumping in the "help" inspires them? I've built homes and boats and I think the last thing I would want is the owners 'helping out'. For me every time they were in there helping to me it just felt unnatural. Showing interest and documenting makes for better content IMHO.
@steveburlace45182 жыл бұрын
@Jack Blah yeah 100% it'll inspire them. You spend all your time building these magnificent vessels and wonder where they will go and if or how much the owners will appreciate the work you put in. Just knowing they will be able to follow the adventures of this boat and see where she goes is inspiring for someone putting the work in every day, and it's lots of work! We had an owner do a similar thing with us once, and he wasn't nearly as happy as Riley, but it brought us immense joy even though he didn't have a clue what he was doing 🤣. But above all that it'll give Riley an intimate knowledge of his boat, a level of intelligence that you can't purchase with a finished boat that will help him immensely in the future.
@jackblah58422 жыл бұрын
@@steveburlace4518 Thanks for your thoughtful response. Being able to follow your work via their KZbin channel is immeasurable, and I am now understanding your point about working alongside the owners, that there may be some camaraderie there. I think where we differ is I believe this could be achieved without actually trying to do the work but I get your point. Nick from Ruby Rose is doing an amazing job of documenting the build of their Seawind and has gone so far as to learn to speak Vietnamese. I can't wait to see both vessels on the water.

@Kevin Grimbeek Tight enough that they had to drill holes inside to let air escape when the akas were inserted. As the inserts appear slightly wedge-shaped and the amas were pulled in with truck-size ratchet straps, I suspect the surfaces bonded as completely as any vaccuum-bagged layers.

People were complaining about this in the comment section of their last video as well. I think we shouldn’t be too quick to judge or criticize this high quality team and factory that have gone above and beyond to be accommodating. I started paying attention more closely, while watching after seeing comments like this, and if you’ll notice all of the massive bay doors at the end of the factory are wide open while they are in there working and filming. I do not think this is an enclosed space without ventilation and airflow from those massive bay doors. Working construction with my dad growing up, if we had doors like that open I’m sure my dad wouldn’t even have been wearing any mask at all lol the masks they are wearing and provided, coupled with the through ventilation, seems more than sufficient!

So excited to watch another boat build video. Maybe I missed it, but I would love to see a better cartoon video with the layout of the boat. I can't quite picture how the bedrooms and everything are set up. Thanks!!

Wow it’s coming along so quick. I love watching the progress and your excitement of every stage. I’m looking forward to seeing the interior go in and all your choices you have made. The boys are growing up so fast and it’s awesome to see them play together. Looking forward to the next episode!!

Your trip on the scooter through crazy traffic going every-which-way took me back to living in Paris and merging onto the Place de l'Etoile. 12 feeder street "spokes of the wheel" of people in all sorts of vehicles threading their way through to the desired exit- shear madness! I always felt my heart in my throat especially when I had the kids with me.....

I'm really keen to understand how the physics of a rotating mast help with sailing. Perhaps another Riley cartoon? Really interesting series guys, loving it!

Boy!! Has Vietnam changed since I’ve been there, wasn’t beautiful as it is know. 57 years ago. It wasn’t a very nice place, I’m glad it has changed to the better. Your boat is really nice, can’t wait until it’s done and your family start sailing again.👨🏻🦳😊🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
