✅ WATCH NEXT -- 11 BEST hamstring exercises for strength & speed: • 11 BEST Hockey Hamstri...
One of the best but most underrated hamstring exercises for sports performance is the glute ham raise on a glute ham developer (GHD).
Since many athletes (at least the hockey players I've seen) are too weak to perform several sets with proper form, you need to regress the exercise by looping a resistance band around your body.
The band assistance makes the movement easier, allowing you to maintain the correct position throughout each rep.
Once you have learned how to perform glute ham raises over a full range of motion with good technique, it's time to crank things up a notch.
Add these five advanced progressions into your workout for strengthening and developing an injury-resistant set of hamstrings.

Sorry for all the questions! I just had a few questions on your book 1. Are there training splits and workouts in it? 2. Is there IN-season programming as well as OFF-season programming? 3. Is it coming back in stock? I saw that it's currently out of stock right now. Thank you!

1. No. If you want to understand what and how to train to make the fastest progress in your life, read the book. If you just want a full gym program to follow, Next Level Hockey Training 2.0 (nextlevelhockeytraining.com/) has got you covered. 2. Chapter 13 covers how to modify your training after the off-season, so you continue to make gains in-season. 3. It can go out of stock when a large number of orders comes in at the same time. It's back in stock now.

Are deadmill sprints a good alternative for sled pushes? In case you don't know, deadmill is a treadmill that isn't hooked up so you have to push really hard to keep your legs moving.

Fine if you just want to push your heart rate up and feel your legs burn. But hard to vary loading as you would by adding or taking plates off a sled. So for long-term programming it's not as good.

What do you think about the push pull leg split? I would also like to know your thoughts on a full body split, where you do full body training every time you lift. Thank you!

Full-body training is great, I use it with most of my athletes. Lots of people hype up push/pull/legs on social media. Mainly strength and physique athletes for whom bigger gym numbers or aesthetics is the main goal. I'm not a fan of push/pull/legs for hockey players or other field sport athletes. The frequency per body part is too low unless you train each 2x per week, which adds up to six workouts a week. No reason for an athlete to spend so much time in the gym. Work on your speed, conditioning, and sport skills instead.

@@NextLevelAthletics Thank you so much! Are there any other training splits that may be helpful, but I don't know about? I've been looking into Upper body/Lower body split, but can't wrap my head around how many muscles to work on one day.

Traditional full body, upper/lower, and push/pull full body are my three favorite splits for athletes. What's your sport, by the way?

I have one last question. If I buy Next level hockey training 2.0 program, will it be mine forever? Or will I have to buy it again and again every season. Thanks so much Mr. Yunus, I look forward to more videos. Armaan Sidhu

Yes, you download it once and it's yours forever. It has two different off-season programs (Junior & Pro) and one in-season program. Most people should do the Junior off-season program first. One or two off-seasons on that will set you up for the Pro program. Everything is explained in detail in the Main Manual.

Thank you for the response. If I get it now, and my season starts in september, would I be able to finish one off season junior program?
@NextLevelAthletics
@NextLevelAthletics Жыл бұрын
Yes. You can finish the full Junior off-season program even if the last weeks overlap with your season. Then switch to the in-season program.

@@NextLevelAthletics Thank you so much! Also, I am 12 years old. I saw that it said it isn't for that age group. Why is that. I would love to know in more detail.

Very rare for a 12 year old to have the mental and physical maturity to handle a barbell based program, especially if he doesn't have a qualified strength coach to teach him in person how to do the lifts properly.

Does being on the ice count as cardio? And how far apart should I spread my weight days and conditioning days?
@NextLevelAthletics
@NextLevelAthletics Жыл бұрын
Yes. Alternating days works well but you could also do same day. For example, lift in the morning and push a sled in the evening.

No. I have never released a conditioning program to the public.

@@NextLevelAthletics ok, how should I structure this? I’m on the ice for 4-5 times a week this offseason and the offseason program has 3 days per week. And I need to add conditioning as well.
