Can't wait to give them a try! I live in the UK and there's a big debate that has gone on for years - cream first, then the jam, or Jam first, then the cream. In Cornwall I think they put jam first then the cream. Then there's another argument how to pronounce scone...but that's another story! 😂
@LetThemEatGlutenFreeCake Жыл бұрын
Haha! I've heard that one, too! It all tastes wonderful, no matter which way you put it or how you say it 😍

❤how we bake them on the tray is closely together, because they push each other up… and then we break them open we put jam on both pieces with cream on both… so double the cream lol😊 oh I’m Australian and so love all your recipes so much, there’s nothing like your beautiful flours. I get so much flour every where. My sons say ‘Mum really…. You’re so messy. Can’t take you anywhere’ lol😊 So my butting my nose in is not ment to be nasty it’s just the way we’ve done for ever, my grandmother did them like that…

Here in Utah a "scone" is actually a big piece of frybread- we put butter and honey or cinnamon butter on them and eat them hot or make Navajo Tacos out of them

Thanks Kim! Another great recipe. I made some 2 inch for jam/butter and some bigger for breakfast sandwiches. They puffed up wonderfully. You have really found the way. What a difference your bread and other recipes have made in my Gluten Free life! (Not an exaggeration) :)

Where are you finding the non pasteurized ultra heavy whipping cream at? I put fresh blueberries in my GF scones and sprinkle “sparkle” sanding sugar on top before baking. Then I use cinnamon honey butter. YUM! If you freeze your butter for 10 mins and cut it up in tiny bits, you won’t have to refrigerate your dough. I also make everything in a food processor and it comes out perfect. I will have to try your GF scone since recipe as it looks delicious too. Thank you!

Aldi! I was going to Whole Foods, but since I found mine at Aldi, I'll never go back to Whole Foods and spend a fortune.

We love our scones in England. It depends on where you come from in England, Cornwall or Devon as to whether you put the cream or jam on first. We usually split them and put jam then cream on both sides. And eat them separately.

I've heard that biting into it like a sandwich is a serious no-no! I didn't know that before making this video, haha! I will never do that again 😊

These look great. I make southern style GF biscuits and these look better. Ironically my muffin base is just like this except I use extra milk obviously. Thank you!

My Yorkshire MIL would think your scones are beautiful, delicious and not missing a bit of the traditional! ❤️❤️. You are correct - different parts of Britain make scones differently - all good - some with eggs some not

I love scones but not a fan of southern biscuits. Are these more scone like?
@LetThemEatGlutenFreeCake Жыл бұрын
Yes, they aren't flaky like a southern biscuit would be. But they also aren't as sweet as an "American" scone.

Hi may i know what is leftover milk? can you discribe how to make it...thank you😊

It's just what's leftover in the container because sometimes you don't need all of it. If you watch the video from the beginning, you'll understand.

Hi Kim! I can't wait to try this recipe. Could you share your recipe/instructions to make your clotted cream? Do you need to use unpasteurized cream?
@LetThemEatGlutenFreeCake Жыл бұрын
Yes! I have actually done it with just pasteurized cream (not ultra pasteurized) and it's worked pretty well, but if you have an Aldi near you, they sell unpasteurized cream (or at least they did when I was there last). Here is the link to the recipe: www.letthemeatgfcake.com/homemade-clotted-cream/

Hi Kim :)) I am curious to know if you are able to make your GF blend recipes in a print out mode on your site as you do for your recipes. Maybe it is possible and I am just being slow minded with technology ;)) Anyways, I don't see a "print recipe" button and just thought I would ask. I have another GF blend that I love, but I am very excited to give yours a try bc of your scone and cream biscuits recipe which I used to make years ago, James Beard's Cream Biscuits ❤ Thank you for sharing what look to be delightful recipes 🌻

I tried setting my flour blends up like all of my posts with the recipe section and print recipe, but it didn't work. If I can ever figure out, I'll be sure to post it 🥰

Your scones look great and I will try your recipe. However I'll let you into a little secret just between you and me 🙂, you never, EVER, eat English, or even my Irish scones, like a sandwich which is in your video. You eat one half first, then the second half.

It's okay, I'm not either. I'm so sorry. Can you please try again? I've made several changes to my website that will hopefully make it so much easier to find recipes, but you can also go to the description box below this video and you'll find a link directly to the recipe. To get to the description box from a phone, simply tap "more" underneath the video. Hope this helps!!
